Kate Hudson Says She and Matthew McConaughey Are ‘Both Totally Open’ to a ‘How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days’ Sequel: ‘All That Matters Would Be the Script’

As a huge fan of Kate Hudson and Matthew McConaughey‘s romantic comedy “How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days,” I cannot contain my excitement at the possibility of a sequel! The chemistry between these two stars was undeniable in the original film, and their witty banter and heartfelt moments left a lasting impression on audiences.

As a movie buff, I’d put it this way: I’ve heard some exciting news! Kate Hudson has shared that she and Matthew McConaughey are both considering returning for a sequel to the delightful 2003 romantic comedy “How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days.” Isn’t that thrilling?

On “Watch What Happens Live” last week, Hudson shared that she and McConaughey have discussed the possibility of revisiting the troubled Manhattan streets depicted in their film, mentioning that production companies often consider this idea by stating, “I believe they’re always thinking about that.”

Hudson insisted that a well-written script was a must-have for her to consider joining the project.

“According to Hudson, only the script is important, and if Matthew and I are fond of the script, then everything else will fall into place. We’re both adaptable, but we’ve simply never had the opportunity before.”

The movie “How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days” is inspired by the book of the same title written by Michele Alexander and Jeannie Long. In this romantic comedy, Andie Anderso (played by Kate Hudson) is a magazine writer who sets out to write an article about how to make a man leave you within ten days. Meanwhile, Benjamin Barry (Matthew McConaughey), an advertising executive, makes a wager that he can win over the heart of any woman in just ten days. Their lives intertwine as they each try to accomplish their respective goals.

McConaughey expressed his thoughts on a possible sequel for “How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days” during an interview with E!’s Daily Pop in 2020. He mentioned, “That movie is set up for a sequel, and it was actually a great romantic comedy. I think we could easily make a good follow-up for that.”
