‘Kaos’ Star Nabhaan Rizwan and ‘Doctor Foster’s’ Suranne Jones Join Aimee Lou Wood in BBC Rom-Com ‘Film Club’

As a dedicated film enthusiast with a soft spot for heartwarming rom-coms and coming-of-age stories, I’m thrilled to see Nabhaan Rizwan joining the cast of “Film Club”. His versatile acting skills, as showcased in “Kaos”, will undoubtedly breathe life into his character Noa.

Actors, including “Kaos” star Nabhaan Rizwan, have moved on to new projects after the cancellation of the Netflix series inspired by Greek mythology.

He is set to appear in the cast for the upcoming BBC romantic comedy-drama “Film Club,” sharing screen time with Suranne Jones, who starred as the lead in “Doctor Foster.” The series follows a group of individuals from a film club who find comfort in their mutual love for cinema. Every week, their lives revolve around this shared passion until an unexpected event disrupts their routine.

Actress Aimee Lou Wood, best known for “Sex Education,” was earlier confirmed to play the main character Evie, a character who is working towards recovery after a difficult time in her life with support from the club. Alongside Wood, Ralph Davis (“House of the Dragon”) co-wrote the series and will portray Dominic, a fresh face in the Film Club. Adam Long (“Happy Valley”) and Liv Hill (“The Serpent Queen”) have also been added to the cast as Evie’s boyfriend Josh and her sister Izzie respectively.

In the upcoming show, Rizwan takes on the role of Noa, a good friend of Evie’s and an active participant in the Film Club. Meanwhile, Jones is cast as Evie’s unconventional mother.

Noah has some major news: he’s landed a fantastic job on the opposite side of the country, which means their current situation is coming to an end. The realization of this change is sinking in. For the first time, they may have to confront the possibility that they’re more than just friends. Neither of them are particularly adept at handling emotions, but this time, their feelings might be too strong to ignore.

The production of the show, initiated by BBC Drama Director Lindsay Salt and Fiona Campbell, the head of youth audience for BBC Three, has commenced in Manchester, United Kingdom. The broadcast is scheduled for next year on BBC iPlayer and BBC Three in the U.K., as well as ZDFneo in Germany at a future time.

Anna Jordan (“One Day”) joins Wood and Davis as part of the writing team for episode four.

The show is manufactured by Gaumont UK, in collaboration with ZDFneo. Stella Merz, known for “Gentleman Jack,” takes on the role of producer, while Catherine Morshead from “Daddy Issues” is responsible for directing.

The production of Wood is carried out in collaboration with Alison Jackson, Jamie Jackson, and Gaumont, as well as Nawfal Faizullah for the BBC.

Fremantle is handling global sales.
