2024 saw the much-anticipated debut of Tekken 8, bringing joy to fighting game enthusiasts globally, and the newest addition to its roster is none other than Clive Rosfield from Final Fantasy XVI.
Enthusiasts eagerly anticipate additional fresh combatants following the launch of Anna Williams, and it appears that one devotee in particular holds a distinct preference as to who might appear next.
On February 25, 2025, a passionate fan of the Bayonetta video game series took to Twitter to appeal to Hideki Kamiya, the game’s director and co-creator of its iconic character, asking him to leverage his industry ties to include Bayonetta in Tekken 8.

The dialogue began when Kamiya made a comment on Anna William’s trailer, pointing out her rocket launcher and suggesting that instead of a human battle, we are now witnessing a fight among superhumans, comparable to the highest tier of Marvel superheroes.
“Bayonetta in Tekken. I’d like to see it,” a fan replied. “No offers?”
In a manner characteristic of Kamiya, the well-respected game director retorted sharply to the fan, suggesting they take a look at his biography for clarification.
“Do you know my profile? Can you read the text?” he said.

As a devoted admirer, I can’t help but acknowledge that Kamiya is renowned for setting the record straight, leaving no stone unturned when it comes to brushing off internet users who persistently bother him about projects he’s been involved with in gaming history.

Instead, it’s worth noting that Kamiya is no longer associated with the Bayonetta series as he has departed from Platinum Games to establish Studio Clovers. His current endeavor is centered around the forthcoming sequel of the Okami franchise.
It’s worth noting that the fan didn’t make a mistake in questioning him about Tekken; after all, Kamiya is well-acquainted with Tekken director Katsuhiro Harada and other legendary fighting game creators like Masahiro Sakurai, who included Bayonetta as a playable character in Smash Brothers.
More recently, Sakurai was seen having drinks with Harada, Kamiya, and Mafia Kajita in Tokyo. Translated, this means they spent time together there.
It’s worth noting that Sakurai has been spending a lot of his recent past with Harada. They shared meals in April and July.

Although Kamiya is deeply involved with Okami at the moment, it seems unlikely that he has control over whether Bayonetta makes an appearance in the Tekken universe. However, fans may still keep their fingers crossed for this possibility.
