Kamala Harris Cracks Open a Miller High Life With Stephen Colbert on ‘The Late Show’

As a supporter of Kamala Harris, I couldn’t help but feel a sense of pride and excitement as I watched her return to “The Late Show With Stephen Colbert.” Her life experience, from being the first woman of African and South Asian descent elected Vice President, to her tenure as Attorney General of California, has prepared her incredibly well for the challenges she now faces.

I was thrilled to revisit CBS’ “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert” last Tuesday evening, making it my initial late-night visit since securing the Democratic presidential nomination back in August.

Harris cracked open a can of Miller High Life with host Stephen Colbert. “The last time I had beer was at a baseball game with Doug [Emhoff],” Harris said, before saying the lager brand’s slogan, “The Champagne of Beers.”

In the course of an interview, Colbert queried Harris regarding disclosures from journalist Bob Woodward’s forthcoming book titled “War.” Among these revelations was the assertion that Trump allegedly made up to seven phone calls with Russian president Vladimir Putin following his departure from office.

Indeed, I learned about it today without getting the chance to read it. However, let me emphasize that during a previous debate, Kamala pointed out that Donald Trump openly idolizes dictators and authoritarians. If re-elected as president, he has stated he would act like a dictator from day one. You see, these powerful figures manipulate him because they praise or provide him with benefits.

Our nation’s leader should uphold the values we treasure and show resilience. It’s important for us to support our allies in return. Let’s bolster the partnerships we already have, like NATO, a military alliance that has proven itself as the strongest in history. We must also lend our support to Ukraine as Russia tries to alter borders through force.

Harris’ appearance on “The Late Show” is set to air on CBS at 11:35 p.m. ET.
