Kai Cenat leaks confrontation with Twitch CEO about removal from streamer Mount Rushmore

Kai Cenat is upset with Twitch CEO Dan Clancy after being taken off the platform’s ‘Mount Rushmore’ of top streamers, and a video of their discussion has been leaked.

Last October, Dan Clancy joined Kai Cenat’s stream to celebrate Cenat hitting one million subscribers. While chatting, Cenat asked Clancy to pick his four most influential streamers – his “Mount Rushmore” of streaming. Clancy chose Kai, Ninja, and Pokimane, and initially included IShowSpeed before ultimately deciding on CohnCarnage instead.

Later, during a stream with Mizkif, Clancy changed his mind about including Kai, explaining he’d added Cenat simply because Cenat had requested it.

Clancy later explained that the list probably needed to focus more on historical figures. He said Kai was currently very popular, and he’d included him at Kai’s request, but acknowledged it was like saying, ‘You’re talented, but you haven’t reached legendary status yet.’

Kai was understandably bothered when the streamer shared a video of their conversation with Clancy following Kai’s comments about Mount Rushmore, and labeled it with the message, “no accountability.”

In the video, Clancy walked up to Kai and instantly said, “I’m telling you, it was definitely edited,” when talking about parts of Mizkif’s stream.

Clancy believed that being a veteran streamer was key for people like Miz, but Kai countered that Clancy admitted he only included him on the list due to their physical proximity at the time.

Cenat responded to Miz, saying she only included him on her ‘Mount Rushmore’ list because he had previously helped her gain a larger following.

Okay, so the Twitch CEO basically confirmed he did say what everyone thought he did, but he’s playing it off like it was just casual banter between him and Mizkif – just talk, you know?

The video of the fight, posted on January 14th, quickly became very popular online. Andrew Santamaria, a leader at Kick, then appeared to encourage Kai to switch from Twitch to their competing platform.

“Say when. No dancing here sir. Time to get treated like an adult. Love that you pressed,” he said.

Mizkif also reacted to the video, backing Dan Clancy while criticizing the tendency for online clips to misrepresent what happened.

Miz was upset that Kai only saw a selectively edited clip of his stream. He believes this is a common problem with online ‘clipping culture’ and that someone misrepresented a positive comment Dan made about him – calling him one of the best – to make it seem like something negative.

Kai saw a clipped and edited version of my stream, which perfectly illustrates how ‘clipping culture’ is damaging to streaming. Someone took a positive comment Dan made – calling me one of the greats – and twisted it to create a false narrative. It’s frustrating that even a 20-minute segment…

He complained that his brother could sit and read for twenty minutes, but couldn’t focus on a short video for even three, highlighting Kai’s recent dedication to reading.

Dan Clancy hasn’t commented on the leaked video yet. It’s also unknown when Kai will start streaming again, as he’s currently preparing to launch his new clothing line.
