Kai Cenat defends Ironmouse over outrage for breaking his Twitch subscriber record

As a seasoned gamer with years of streaming experience under my belt, I can’t help but admire Kai Cenat’s stand in support of Ironmouse. Having been there myself, I understand the unique pressures and expectations that come with holding a record like amassing the most Twitch subscribers.

Kai Cenat publicly expressed his backing for Ironmouse following the controversy over her breaking his previous Twitch subscription record. He requested that the streaming community cease with their negativity towards the VTuber.

Cenat’s impressive number of 306,261 Twitch subscribers was thought to be unbeatable until Ironmouse broke that record on September 26 during a marathon streaming event. The new champion now boasts over 311,000 subscribers, surpassing the previous record by approximately 5,000.

Yet, even though she received universal acclaim from the streaming community for her accomplishment, she’s encountered criticism as well, with some of that coming from Cenat’s dedicated followers.

On October 5th, the AMP broadcaster initiated a live stream on Twitch, addressing the backlash that Ironmouse has faced. He acknowledged observing “most people criticizing Ironmouse.

He acknowledged that at first glance, many might think, “What the f**k, this is weird, how the f**k did this even happen?” But, he reminded his audience that “if you guys know your Twitch history,” Ironmouse has always been a top-five all-time streamer and was someone he had to pass during his first subathon.

He went on to say, “I understand people can be protective, and many stand up for me. Nevertheless, if you took the time to examine her live stream, you’d notice it was meticulously organized. Not only was it aimed at a noble cause, but it was also skillfully arranged for AI-related content.

On Twitch, numerous broadcasters have ascended to become the platform’s most-subscribed, with personalities like Ninja, Ibai, and Ludwig garnering their fair share of the spotlight. However, in March 2023, Kai Cenat claimed the throne by surpassing Ludwig’s previous record of 283,066 subscribers during a marathon streaming event that lasted for more than a year.

Initially, upon learning that the record was shattered, Cenat extended his congratulations to Ironmouse. However, he also made clear that he had earlier pledged to his followers that should the record be surpassed, he would work diligently to reclaim it.
