So Justin Sun tweets, “Tron Meme SZN is coming.” That’s it. Seriously, that’s the entire tweet! And what happens? People lose their minds. The SZN memecoin skyrockets like it just found out the rent was due. We’re talking 103% up in minutes. No warning, no parachute, nothing. 🚀😳
Check this out: SZN is trading at $0.000754. That’s not even enough for a cup of coffee, unless you’re buying coffee in some alternate crypto universe. And get this — before the tweet, it was circling the drain at $0.0035. But hold your horses, because it’s still down 80% from its “glorious” all-time high of $0.0102. That high lasted about as long as my patience at the DMV. (Which is not long, believe me.)
Now, let’s talk about these tweets. Justin Sun, he’s always out here trying to save Tron like it’s some endangered species. He tried this before! Back in March, he shouted “Tron Meme szn 2.0 CONFIRMED. Fully Loaded!” I mean, he loves a dramatic declaration — maybe next time use all caps, Justin, spice it up a little.
On that day alone, 112 new tokens launched. Everybody with WiFi was minting something on SunPump (because obviously you want your project to sound like a protein powder). Back in August 2024, they hit 7,532 tokens minted in one day. Seven thousand tokens! That’s not an ecosystem, that’s a zoo. Then, “market enthusiasm” cooled off. Shocking, right? These days you’re lucky if someone launches more than two tokens, and one of those is probably just a test because someone’s nephew clicked the wrong button. 🫠
Of course, SunPump’s still trying to fight off the competition, mainly Pump.Fun, which is apparently where the actual “fun” is happening. Pump.Fun’s tossing out tokens like dollar-store candy on Halloween: over 10 million tokens and counting. And then there’s the cash. SunPump: $1,200 revenue in a day. Pump.Fun? $1.3 million. If SunPump is a lemonade stand, Pump.Fun is Costco.
Tron’s trying to lure people in with zero-fee trading. (Zero! They should charge negative fees, just to see what happens at this point.) Meanwhile, their main coin, TRX, is up 3% in the last 24 hours — so if you squint, you might see a light at the end of the tunnel that isn’t just an oncoming train. Current price: $0.2631 — hey, that’s almost enough for a bottle of water at the airport. 😅
