‘Jurassic World: Rebirth’ Trailer: Scarlett Johansson Faces Off Against Dinosaur Birds and Whales in Franchise’s Seventh Film

In the newest preview for “Jurassic World: Rebirth,” dinosaurs roam freely. The second trailer for the upcoming action-dinosaur movie has been unveiled by Universal, featuring Scarlett Johansson, Mahershala Ali, and Jonathan Bailey in the cast. This is the seventh film in the prehistoric series. Directed by Gareth Edwards, it’s also written by David Koepp, who wrote the script for Steven Spielberg’s 1993 “Jurassic Park.

Jurassic World: Renascence” resumes five years after the incidents of “Jurassic World: Endurance,” as the planet’s ecosystem has mostly become unfavorable for dinosaurs. The few survivors live in isolated equatorial areas that mimic their ancient habitats. The three largest creatures within this tropical sanctuary hold the secret to a drug that could offer extraordinary life-saving advantages to mankind.

Johansson will portray Zora Bennett, a skilled operative in covert operations, tasked with assembling a team to retrieve DNA samples from three of the biggest dinosaur species currently existing. She’s accompanied by her partner Duncan Kincaid (played by Ali), a fellow expert, and Dr. Henry Loomis (Bailey), a renowned paleontologist. The rest of Zora’s team includes Rupert Friend, representing a pharmaceutical corporation (Martin Krebs), as well as Philippine Velge, Bechir Sylvain, and Ed Skrein playing additional characters.

Zora and her team find themselves meeting a civilian family whose boat trip was overturned by marauding sea dinosaurs. As a result, everyone becomes stranded on an island. On this island, they stumble upon a disturbing revelation that has remained secret for many years.

“Jurassic World: Rebirth” stomps into theaters July 2. Watch the trailer below.
