As a film enthusiast with a soft spot for heartwarming coming-of-age stories, I can hardly contain my excitement for “Bonus Track.” The diverse ensemble cast, led by the talented Joe Anders and Samuel Small, promises an engaging and captivating tale that resonates deeply with the human experience.

The American premiere of “Bonus Track,” directed by Julia Jackman in her first full-length film, penned by Mike Gilbert and based on a story by Josh O’Connor, has been scheduled by Sunrise Films.

The upcoming queer romantic comedy features Joe Anders (“1917”) and Samuel Small (“So Awkward”), alongside an impressive ensemble that includes Ray Panthaki (“Boiling Point”), Susan Wokoma (“Enola Holmes”), Jack Davenport (“Ten Percent”), Alison Sudol (the “Fantastic Beasts” series) and O’Connor (“Challengers”) in a special appearance.

2006 finds us in England, where the narrative unfolds around George, a 16-year-old hopeful musician, and Max, the offspring of a renowned musical pair. As they gear up for the end-of-year talent show, their bond deepens in ways neither could have anticipated.

The movie titled ‘Bonus Track’ first premiered at the BFI London Film Festival before being distributed as a Sky Original in the United Kingdom. This production is a collaborative effort between Erebus Pictures and Sky, along with Lunapark Pictures and Fortune Films. Bankside Films, who previously owned the U.S. rights for the film and were later acquired by Sunrise, now manage international sales.

The film will release theatrically in the U.S. on Oct. 11, which is also National Coming Out Day.

Sunrise Films, established by Rupert Preston (CEO of Vertigo Releasing) and Nigel Williams (chairman), is a global-oriented production and distribution firm that aims to shine in the film industry.

Sunrise Entertainment is known for producing films like “The Accused” and “Gassed Up”. On the distribution side, they have distributed movies such as “Beneath the Surface”, “The Girl in the Trunk”, “After Love”, and “Law of Tehran” in the United States. They recently obtained the rights to distribute Luna Carmoon’s Venice-winning film “Hoard” and the action thriller “Sunray” within the U.S. territory.
