In the initial preview for his upcoming project, titled “Off the Grid,” Josh Duhamel can be seen evading capture. This action-packed thriller finds the former Transformers star portraying a highly intelligent character pursued relentlessly by a covert operations team.
The recently released clips hint at Duhamel’s character, Guy, being a scientist who develops a miniature generator. In this role, he uncovers that his superiors aim to misuse the technology for sinister intentions. With an urgency to protect lives, Guy steals the tech and flees. However, an old adversary (Greg Kinnear) swiftly begins pursuing him.
Josh Duhamel is On the Run in New Trailer for Off the Grid
In this gripping, action-packed thriller, a noble scientist invents groundbreaking technology that an unscrupulous corporation seeks to exploit for nefarious purposes. To protect mankind, he flees into hiding. However, when the company dispatches a task force to track him down, they underestimate his cunning and resourcefulness – turning their quarry into a formidable weapon in a deadly game of cat-and-mouse. Featuring the talents of Josh Duhamel and Academy Award nominee Greg Kinnear, this film showcases how our protagonist transforms guerrilla warfare into a lethal science.
Previously, the director of the film “Off the Grid,” Johnny Martin, has worked on projects such as the 2017 Nicholas Cage movie, titled “Hangman.” This crime thriller also starred Al Pacino. Another project he was involved with is a post-apocalyptic horror movie called “Alone,” which featured Tyler Posey. The screenplay for this upcoming film is penned by Jim Agnew, who has previously produced Nicholas Cage’s 2014 film “Rage” and a high-tech thriller set during the pandemic era that starred Anthony Hopkins.
Equipped with extraordinary intelligence and strength, this wild prodigy transforms guerrilla warfare into a lethal study, using cunning tactics and brute force.
Recently, Duhamel shared that prior to his latest film, he gained experience living self-sufficiently, having relocated his family to a secluded cabin in Minnesota.
He shared that one of the main motivations for constructing his retreat in the heart of Minnesota’s woods was its isolation from urban life. The nearest store lies 40 miles distant. Upon reaching there, it’s all about mutual support, creating precious moments, bonding with loved ones, and reconnecting with simplicity. Out there, you are freed from the clutches of distractions. Life, in this sanctuary, revolves around enjoyment, ensuring everyone’s comfort, warmth, food, and water.
Duhamel mentioned that residing far from urban areas helped him reconnect with the essential aspects of life.
