JonBenét Ramsey Limited Series Casts Garrett Hedlund, Alison Pill, Emily Mitchell, Owen Teague

As a seasoned movie buff who has spent countless hours immersed in the world of cinema, I must say that this JonBenét Ramsey limited series at Paramount+ is shaping up to be quite an intriguing production. With the addition of these four talented actors – Garrett Hedlund, Alison Pill, Emily Mitchell, and Owen Teague – the cast is looking stronger than ever.

Four new actors are joining the cast of the JonBenét Ramsey limited series on Paramount+, completing the lineup.

It’s been confirmed that Garrett Hedlund, Alison Pill, Emily Mitchell, and Owen Teague will be part of the main cast for the upcoming series. They join Melissa McCarthy, Clive Owen, Shea Whigham, and Will Patton who were announced earlier. Filming is scheduled to start soon in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.

In line with the earlier announcement, the series is set to focus on the Ramsey family’s journey, both before and after a heart-wrenching event – the loss of a child that was intensely covered by the media, captivating an entire nation. The story primarily revolves around Patsy (McCarthy) and John Ramsey (Owen), delving into the resilient bond between these intricate individuals – portraying their relationship as partners and parents – who had strived to project a picture-perfect, privileged lifestyle, only for it to crumble on a fateful Christmas night in 1996.

In an upcoming movie titled “The Apprentice,” Mitchell is set to portray JonBenét Ramsey. Following this role, she will appear alongside Sebastian Stan, who plays a young Donald Trump in the film. Previously, Mitchell has acted in productions such as “Ordinary Angels,” “Priscilla,” and “Out of My Mind,” and television series like “What We Do in the Shadows” and “Ghosts.

She is repped by Ritter Talent Agency.

Actor Daniel Hedlund has been cast as Detective Steve Thomas, a veteran detective joining the investigation of the Jonbenét case. This is Hedlund’s second series on Paramount+, where he already plays a role in their organized crime series “Tulsa King,” alongside Sylvester Stallone. The second season of this show premieres on September 15. Beyond his work on streaming platforms, Hedlund is recognized for his roles in movies such as “Four Brothers,” “Tron: Legacy,” “Troy,” “Friday Night Lights,” and “Inside Llewyn Davis.

He is repped by WME, Brillstein Entertainment Partners, Sloane Offer, and The Initiative Group.

In the upcoming role, Pill is set to portray Detective Linda Arndt, who hails from Boulder, Colorado, serving as a police detective. Together with her partner, Detective Trujillo, they were the initial investigators after Jonbenét Ramsey was reported missing or kidnapped.

This represents Pill’s second television series on Paramount+, following her two-season stint in “Star Trek: Picard.” She has also resurfaced in the Netflix animated series “Scott Pilgrim Takes Off,” reprising her role from the movie “Scott Pilgrim vs. The World.” Additionally, she has appeared on other platforms such as Apple TV+ (“Hello, Tomorrow”), FX (“Devs”), Amazon (“Them”), and HBO (“The Newsroom”).

She is repped by The Burstein Company and CAA.

Teague is set to portray Jeff Shapiro, a character known for his arrogant boldness and job as a tabloid reporter for The Globe. Most recently, Teague was seen in the hit movies “Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes” and both installments of “It,” and previously appeared on CBS All Access’s (now Paramount+) miniseries “The Stand” and shows like HBO’s “Mrs. Fletcher” and Netflix’s “Bloodline.

He is repped by CAA and Jackoway Austen Tyerman.

I’m one of the writers and executive producers on this captivating series, alongside Richard LaGravense, Harrison Query, and Tommy Wallach. Notably, Richard is also our showrunner. Together, we pitched the idea to MTV Entertainment Studios and 101 Studios, where it was warmly received. Amongst us, Anne Sewitsky, another executive producer, will be directing four out of eight episodes. The team at 101 Studios, consisting of David C. Glasser, Ron Burkle, Bob Yari, and David Hutkin, are also serving as executive producers. To top it off, McCarthy is not just a star in this production but also an executive producer.
