Jonathan Majors, the actor, is reportedly returning to filmmaking with a new action movie. He’s partnering with The Daily Wire, a conservative media company, for the project, which will be filmed in South Carolina.
Jonathan Majors, known for his roles in Creed III and Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, has started filming a new, currently unnamed action movie. The film is being produced by The Daily Wire and Bonfire Legend, and it’s Majors’ first movie project in about four years, following legal issues that paused his career momentum.
Action Throwback In Development
Kyle Rankin, the director of the new film and previously known for his work on Run Hide Fight with The Daily Wire, also wrote the script. Details are still secret, but the movie is expected to be a throwback to 80s and 90s action classics like Red Dawn and Toy Soldiers, featuring young characters who must unite to fight off an invasion.

Ben Shapiro of The Daily Wire and Dallas Sonnier of Bonfire Legend are producing the project, with additional production support from Travis Mills, Lillian Campbell, and Sydney Aucreman.
Cameras reportedly began rolling this week.
Majors’ Career Reset Continues
Jonathan Majors quickly became known as a rising star in Hollywood thanks to his roles in shows like Lovecraft Country and movies like Creed III, as well as his part as Kang the Conqueror in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. But in 2023, his career stalled when he was convicted of assaulting his ex-girlfriend.

After facing significant fallout, Jonathan Majors lost several acting roles and stepped away from mainstream Hollywood. His new film suggests he’s trying to revive his career, but he’s doing so outside of the traditional Hollywood system.
I saw that, despite everything, Jonathan Majors is still set to star in this really interesting-sounding movie called Merciless. It’s a supernatural revenge thriller that was first announced earlier this year, back in 2024.
The Daily Wire’s Growing Film Strategy
It’s worth noting that The Daily Wire is involved. This conservative media company has been growing its entertainment side, aiming to create content independently of major Hollywood studios.

This platform has a history of supporting projects with actors and actresses who faced career setbacks after being ostracized by Hollywood, such as Armie Hammer and Gina Carano. Their latest and most significant project is the fantasy TV series, The Pendragon Cycle.
This new project with Jonathan Majors and The Daily Wire seems to follow a similar approach: partnering with a well-known actor looking to rebuild their career.
Key Creative Team
Additional crew members on the film include:
- Kristopher Kimlin as cinematographer
- David Guglielmo handling casting
- Vincent Reynaud as production designer
- Emma Fleming as costume designer
Majors is producing through Tall Street Productions.
What Comes Next
Look, Majors is undeniably talented and still has a recognizable name, but whether this project will truly relaunch his career is still up in the air. Getting back into those big-budget, blockbuster movies? That’s going to be a tough climb, honestly. We’ll have to see if this performance is enough to convince studios he’s ready for that level again.

Production has officially started, and the entertainment industry is paying close attention to see if this project featuring Jonathan Majors and The Daily Wire signals a full return to acting for Majors, or just a single appearance.
