The romantic comedy titled “31 Candles,” directed by Jonah Feingold (of “Exmas” fame), has been obtained by Level 33 Entertainment.
The movie is set to premiere in North American cinemas by the end of this year. Moreover, Level 33 will market “31 Candles” for overseas distribution during the forthcoming Cannes Film Market.
31 Candles revolves around Leo Kadner (Feingold), a 30-year-old New York resident, who unexpectedly decides to hold his late Bar Mitzvah ceremony after bumping into his old summer camp love, Eva Shapiro (newcomer Sarah Coffey). Joining the cast are Jackie Sandler, known for films like “Big Daddy” and “You Are So Not Invited to My Bat Mitzvah”, Dale Moss from “The Bachelorette”, comedian Jared Freid, Catherine Cohen of “Only Murders In The Building”, Lori Tan Chinn from “A Man on the Inside”, Caroline Aaron from “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel”, and Larry Owens from “Abbott Elementary”.
Feingold stated, ‘There’s nothing more a Bar Mitzvah boy could dream of than the opportunity to tell a heartfelt, humorous, Jewish tale to everyone worldwide.’ He expressed his hope that the audience will back our entirely independent production.
Apart from that, Feingold has previously worked on and managed the direction of “31 Candles,” which happens to be his fifth full-length movie. He oversaw the production of “Exmas,” a festive film starring Leighton Meester, the romantic comedy “At Midnight” for Paramount+, featuring Monica Barbaro and Diego Boneta, as well as “Dating and New York,” which stars Jaboukie Young-White and Francesca Reale. He is currently working on post-production for the film “Busboys,” starring David Spade and Theo Von.

The deal was negotiated by UTA on behalf of the filmmakers and Olavarria on behalf of Level 33.
