Johnny Wactor Killing: Multiple Suspects Detained in Connection to ‘General Hospital’ Actor’s Murder

As a devoted fan who followed Johnny Wactor‘s journey from the small screen to the tragic events that unfolded off it, I am deeply saddened by his untimely demise. The news of the search warrants served and detentions made in connection to his death brings a glimmer of hope, but the pain remains raw for his loved ones, especially his godmother who launched a heartfelt GoFundMe campaign.

On Thursday, it was reported by the Los Angeles Times that at least three individuals, suspected of being involved in the death of Johnny Wactor, were served search warrants by the LAPD homicide bureau. Two of these suspects have been taken into custody without bail. The 37-year-old actor, best known for his role on “General Hospital,” was fatally shot during a catalytic converter theft attempt in downtown Los Angeles on May 25th.

According to The Times’ report, unidentified law enforcement officials disclosed that the Wactor investigation is examining members of the Florencia 13 gang suspected of being involved in local catalytic converter thefts. A warrant was secured based on a statement outlining reasonable suspicion, which allowed for warrants to be issued for three individuals, as their fingerprints taken from a stolen floor jack matched those belonging to the thieves who took Wactor’s catalytic converter.

A GoFundMe page was set up following Wactor’s passing, aiming to gather contributions for his family. Since its initiation, this fundraiser has amassed over $144,000 in donations. The campaign was started by Wactor’s godmother, Michaelle Kinard.

On May 25th, my beloved friend’s son was tragically taken from us in the cruelest of ways. It was an act of senseless violence, as Johnny was simply leaving work when he encountered three individuals attempting to steal his catalytic converter. Thinking he was being towed, he asked if that was the case. The individual stood up with a mask on and responded silently before firing the fatal shot.

“It is hoped that with divine intervention, the perpetrator will be apprehended and the family will have the opportunity to confront him directly. This action could potentially provide some resolution to this unfortunate event. Any remaining funds from the donations will be given to charities chosen by the family in honor of Johnny.”

On the soap opera “General Hospital,” actor Wactor took on the role of Brando, who was the son of Gladys Corbin (played by Bonnie Borroughs) and the husband of Sasha Corbin (portrayed by Sofia Mattsson), a character struggling with drug addiction. Wactor played this character from 2020 to 2022, appearing in over 160 episodes.
