Exciting updates surface concerning the upcoming revival of the classic series, Highlander, starring Henry Cavill. Nearly finalized negotiations on the movie rights suggest that the long-awaited new installment of Highlander could soon be assigned an official release date.
According to reports, Amazon MGM Studios’ United Artists and Scott Stuber are near to securing the rights for Cavill’s Highlander film. If the deal is finalized, Stuber will produce the project alongside Nick Nesbitt and Neal H. Moritz, with Chad Stahelski’s 87Eleven Entertainment also involved. With John Wick franchise director Stahelski in charge, the movie’s script has been penned by Michael Finch (writer of John Wick: Chapter 4).
It appears United Artists is considering acquiring complete control over the Highlander franchise, as suggested by recent reports. These plans may involve expanding the series beyond the upcoming film featuring Cavill, potentially including a TV show spin-off, according to Deadline. Moreover, Amazon’s approach seems to have resonated with director Stahelski’s vision for Highlander, suggesting a mutually beneficial deal. Ultimately, the success of the movie starring Cavill and directed by Stahelski will determine the future of the franchise; however, given the high-profile names involved, expectations are that the reboot will generate significant interest.
Henry Cavill’s Next Big Role Is for Highlander
