As a long-time admirer of Hollywood and its charismatic leading men, I must confess that this year’s People’s Sexiest Man Alive, John Krasinski, has undoubtedly stolen the crown from some formidable competition. Having grown up watching Krasinski as Jim Halpert on “The Office,” his transformation into a versatile actor, director, and producer is nothing short of impressive.
John Krasinski has been crowned People’s sexiest man alive for 2024.
The news was announced Tuesday night during “The Late Show With Stephen Colbert.”
He expressed pure astonishment when he found out about his selection,” Krasinski told People. “I mean, it was like a sudden blankness, devoid of thoughts. My first thought was maybe I’m being pranked. That’s not typically how my mornings go – wondering if today is the day I’ll be named Sexiest Man Alive. But indeed, it was that very day you chose me. You’ve truly set a high standard for me.
As shared by Krasinski, Emily Blunt showed great enthusiasm upon learning the news. He expressed that there was an abundance of happiness as he shared it with her, according to what he told People for their latest cover feature.
John Krasinski is well-recognized for his roles as paper salesman Jim Halpert on the American adaptation of “The Office,” a mockumentary sitcom, and as the main character, CIA analyst Jack Ryan, in the Amazon Prime Video series. Additionally, he directed, co-wrote, and starred in the films “A Quiet Place” (2018) and its sequel, released in 2020.
In 2021, Krasinski took on multiple roles in “IF,” a humorous fantasy movie where Cal (played by Ryan Reynolds) and Bea (Cailey Fleming), two neighbors, have the ability to see each other’s imaginary companions. Additionally, he was a producer for the apocalyptic horror film “A Quiet Place: Day One,” featuring Lupita Nyong’o and Joseph Quinn in lead roles.
Since its first presentation in 1985, the magazine has been hosting an annual “Sexiest Man Alive” feature, with Mel Gibson being the inaugural recipient. Last year’s laureate was Patrick Dempsey, while other recent recipients include Chris Evans, Michael B. Jordan, Paul Rudd, John Legend, and Idris Elba.
People’s sexiest man alive issue, featuring an interview with Krasinski, hits newsstands Friday.
