As a gamer who has been following the podcast scene for quite some time now, it’s fascinating to see the ebb and flow of popularity among these digital titans. I remember when Joe Rogan’s podcast was unbeatable, reigning supreme on Spotify charts, but alas, even the mightiest must fall (or in this case, slip).
Once more, Joe Rogan’s podcast has fallen from the peak positions on Spotify, as Alex Cooper’s “Call Her Daddy” has claimed the top spot following an extraordinary episode featuring Kamala Harris.
For several years now, Joe Rogan’s podcast consistently ranks as one of the top-rated programs on Spotify, maintaining its popularity despite an agreement allowing him to share episodes on different platforms as well.
At times, it happens that a different podcast climbs to the number one position because of a popular episode or segment spreading rapidly on social networking sites.
On October 2nd, my reign at the top took a hit when The Shawn Ryan Show dethroned me. It’s been barely a few weeks since I had the pleasure of hosting a podcast with a veteran US Navy Seal on my channel.
A new podcast is making waves, climbing up the rankings and causing a shift in the hierarchy, as it pushes the Joe Rogan Experience down further on the U.S. podcast chart and dethrones it from the number one spot on Spotify’s list of most popular comedy podcasts.
On October 8, 2024, Alex Cooper’s Call Her Daddy surpassed The Joe Rogan Experience to claim the top spot on the US Spotify Comedy podcast chart. This remarkable achievement occurred mere days after her interview with Vice President Kamala Harris and the current Presidential nominee.
Completing the list of the top comedy podcasts are ChainsFR, Conversations with Haliey Welch, and The Laugh Out Loud Podcast.
In the overall top podcast ranking, Joe Rogan dropped from second position to third, as a popular episode by Cooper went viral. Despite this shift, she still trails closely behind The Shawn Ryan Show.
For approximately two years, Alex Cooper was based at Barstool Sports. However, in 2021, she sealed an exclusive contract with Spotify, which further boosted the visibility of her widely popular Call Her Daddy podcast.
Ever since then, I’ve been consistently tuning into the podcast that’s now recognized as the “most popular among women,” as stated in her Spotify bio, and I can’t get enough!
As a dedicated listener, I can’t help but admire the meteoric rise of Hannah Welch’s “Talk Tuah” podcast. This captivating series has been making waves, nudging its way towards the top spot once occupied by Joe Rogan. The journey began when Hannah, with her viral “hawk tuah” catchphrase, garnered widespread attention.
After debuting her podcast in September, she swiftly climbed up to the fourth spot on the general chart and has stayed there, just below Rogan, for several weeks on the comedy rankings.
