Despite still being cut off the air in many cities, *Jimmy Kimmel Live!* is seeing strong ratings. During his show on September 25th, Kimmel jokingly thanked Donald Trump for the attention Trump’s comments brought to the program. Kimmel shared that Tuesday’s show was one of the highest-rated in the show’s nearly 23-year history, with the monologue alone garnering over 21 million views on YouTube. He playfully credited Trump with helping to achieve those numbers.
Following his show’s celebration, Jimmy Kimmel expressed frustration that others seemed eager to benefit from the increased viewership that came with a challenge to free speech. He then played a clip from *Antiques Roadshow* featuring a pointed message directed at Donald Trump. PBS, the network broadcasting *Antiques Roadshow*, has previously faced criticism from the Trump administration, including a proposal to cut off its federal funding, along with NPR’s. The *Antiques Roadshow* segment continued, describing a piece with a humorous comparison to Donald Trump’s physique.

As a huge fan of late-night shows, I’m really frustrated to see Nexstar and Sinclair still occasionally skipping *Jimmy Kimmel Live!* They said on September 24th they’re still figuring out if they’ll continue to air it on their ABC stations, so they’re preempting episodes while they decide. The good news is they claim to be having good talks with Disney, who produce the show. But honestly, even if it’s not on TV, I know the monologue will still get tons of views on YouTube, so at least there’s that!
