Jimmy Kimmel Responds to Elon Musk Calling Him a ‘Propaganda Puppet’: ‘Listen Kermit, You Bought Twitter’

As a seasoned critic with years of observing and dissecting the intricacies of showbiz and politics, I must say that the latest exchange between Jimmy Kimmel and Elon Musk is a classic case of tit-for-tat banter, albeit with a touch of venom.

Jimmy Kimmel wasn’t shy in his reaction to Elon Musk’s tweet labeling him as a “tiresome purveyor of falsehoods controlled by others.” (Paraphrased)

Kimmel mentioned during his show on Thursday that at least his children appreciate him, as Musk had commented about him earlier on Wednesday following Kimmel’s emotional discussion about Trump’s election win.

He accused me of being manipulated by propaganda, saying I’m like Kermit the Frog because I own Twitter, a platform that, in essence, functions as a propaganda tool.

Kimmel retorted that the criticism was more fitting for Musk himself. “If I were to sum up Elon Musk in just four words,” he stated, “I’d say ‘arrogant, self-promoting, and misleading.’

After that, he browsed through the posts Elon Musk shared prior to this year’s election, labeling media outlets such as The New York Times, The Washington Post, The Atlantic, and the Associated Press as propagandists.

“Good one, Broseph,” Kimmel said. “Everything is propaganda to Elon Musk.”

Everything culminated in Kimmel unveiling a project he had been secretly developing, which he intended to disclose in January when Donald Trump assumed office. Subsequently, a title card for a fictitious news show appeared on the screen, titled “Insufferable Nonsense Propaganda Puppet,” featuring Kimmel as a puppet. “Ah, now the surprise has been spoiled due to Elon Musk!” Kimmel quipped humorously.

During its Wednesday broadcast, Kimmel’s program shifted gears, as he shared in real-time the news of Trump’s election victory with his audience.

“It was a terrible night for women, for children, for the hundreds of thousands of hard working immigrants who make this country go, for health care, for our climate, for science, for journalism, for justice, for free speech,” he said. “It was a terrible night for poor people, for the middle class, for seniors who rely on Social Security, for our allies in Ukraine, for NATO and democracy and decency. And it was a terrible night for everyone who voted against him. And guess what? It was a bad night for everyone who voted for him too. You just don’t realize it yet.”
