As a seasoned movie critic with decades of laughter under my belt, I can confidently say that Jimmy Carr hosting “Last One Laughing” UK is nothing short of a masterstroke. With his knack for dark humor and infectious laugh, he’s sure to make this comedy format an absolute riot.
Jimmy Carr is set to host a U.K. version of comedy format “Last One Laughing” for Prime Video.
In this six-episode show, Carr will put ten renowned British comedians against each other in a friendly competition aimed at inducing laughter. The performer who manages to keep laughing longest will be declared the victor.
“Known for his witty one-liners, distinctive laughter, and dark humor, Jimmy Carr pits ten of Britain’s top comedians against each other in a challenge: they must spend an entire day together without laughing, even once.” Throughout the series, “they will employ all their comedic skills to attempt breaking their opponents while maintaining their own composure and avoiding laughter.”
Besides their fellow comedians, the contestants should be mindful of some unexpected elements as well. These include guest appearances by comedians, format changes, and surprise elements designed to make the competitors laugh.
The series is based on a Japanese Amazon Original series titled “Documental,” created by and starring Hitoshi Matsumoto and owned by Yoshimoto Kogyo. It has since been adapted in over 20 international territories, including France, Germany and Italy. Rebel Wilson has hosted an Australian version.
Banijay U.K. labels Initial and Zeppotron will produce the U.K. version.
