Jesse Williams Set to Tease Prime Video’s Italian Original ‘Hotel Costiera’ at Taormina Film Festival

At the upcoming Taormina Film Festival, Amazon Prime Video will debut the initial clips from their original Italian series titled “Hotel Costiera.” The show’s main star and executive producer, Jesse Williams, will be attending the event.

Adam Bernstein, an Emmy award-winning director known for “30 Rock” and “Fargo”, will preview a snippet of his high-budget, humorous action-drama in Italian event history – the screening taking place at Taormina’s grand 8,000-seat open-air amphitheater, nestled beneath the towering Mt. Etna volcano in Sicily. This sneak peek will showcase a segment from the first episode of the series.

In “Costiera,” Williams (known for roles in “Grey’s Anatomy,” ‘Your Place Or Mine,’ and ‘Only Murders in the Building’) portrays Daniel De Luca, an Italian-American ex-Marine residing in one of the world’s most luxurious hotels in Positano. Daniel is a regular visitor due to his unique ability to unravel mysteries, which comes into play when he is the sole witness to a man who potentially kidnapped the owner’s daughter. Therefore, he may be the only person capable of tracking down the kidnapper. Besides this plotline, Daniel resolves a new case in each episode.

In addition to Williams, the impressive cast features Maria Chiara Giannetta, Jordan Alexandra, Antonio Gerardi, Sam Haygarth, Tommaso Ragno, Amanda Campana, Pierpaolo Spollon, Alejandra Onieva, and Jean-Hugues Anglade.

The series ‘Costiera’ is a joint production by Amazon MGM Studios and Luca Bernabei, who works for Lux Vide – an Italian firm owned by Fremantle, the same company responsible for creating popular international shows like ‘Medici’ and the financial drama ‘Devils.’

In a unique arrangement, Fremantle is managing worldwide distribution for the series “Costiera”, excluding Italy, France, Spain, and Portugal, as well as English-speaking regions such as Great Britain, Ireland, the USA, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand. These territories will be the exclusive launch markets for the show on Amazon Prime Video, set to premiere later in 2021.

The 71st edition of the Taormina Film Festival will run June 10-14
