Jermaine Fowler Joins Tracy Morgan in Paramount+ Comedy Series ‘Crutch’

As a passionate cinephile, I’m thrilled to share that I’ll be witnessing Jermaine Fowler sharing the screen with comedic legend Tracy Morgan in the forthcoming multi-camera comedy series on Paramount+ titled “Crutch.”

Back in May, I had the pleasure of learning about an upcoming show that shares its universe with CBS’s popular comedy “The Neighborhood.” According to the official synopsis, we meet Francois ‘Frank’ Crutchfield, also known as ‘Crutch.’ He’s a bold and adored Harlem shopkeeper whose life takes an unexpected turn when his sophisticated son and spirited daughter decide to move back into the family home. I can hardly wait to see how this dynamic unfolds on screen!

Jake’s character is called Fowler. He’s depicted as an attorney with an Ivy League education who opts out of a lucrative role at an upscale, prestigious law firm to offer affordable legal services in the neighborhood of Harlem instead.

Returning to Paramount, Fowler will once again be part of their family, having previously appeared on their multi-camera sitcom “Superior Donuts” for two seasons. His small screen roles also include the FX miniseries “A Murder at the End of the World” and truTV’s sketch comedy series “Friends of the People”. In films, he has acted in movies such as “Coming 2 America,” “Sorry to Bother You,” “Judas and the Black Messiah,” and “Ricky Stanicky.” Beyond television and film, Fowler is a skilled stand-up comedian, with a 2015 Showtime special titled “Give ‘Em Hell, Kid.”

He is repped by UTA, Entertainment 360, and Yorn Levine.

The TV show titled “Crutch” was created by Owen Smith, who takes on the roles of executive producer and showrunner. In addition to this, Cedric the Entertainer serves as an executive producer, along with Eric C. Rhone, under their production company A Bird and a Bear Entertainment. Furthermore, Morgan will also serve as an executive producer while starring in the series. Aaron Kaplan from Kapital Entertainment and Wendi Trilling from TrillTV are also executive producers. CBS Studios produces this show, and Paramount Global Content Distribution is responsible for distributing it across various platforms.
