Reports of Jeremy Renner’s death are widespread, but they’re not what you’d expect. Fresh information on the harrowing snowplow accident involving the Marvel actor has surfaced, reigniting curiosity about the events that transpired.

Jeremy Renner, widely recognized for portraying Clint Barton/Hawkeye in the initial Avengers team of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, is also known for a less popular role: he played the infamous serial killer Jeffrey Dahmer in the 2002 film “Dahmer,” long before Ryan Murphy’s controversial Netflix series.

In contrast, in January 2023, he gained widespread attention due to an uncommon event – getting crushed by a massive snowplow weighing 14,000 pounds as he rescued his nephew from being hit. This unfortunate incident left him severely injured and admitted to the ICU.

The path to healing was a lengthy one for this Marvel actor, who is currently contemplating the events of that fateful day and his brush with mortality in his recently published memoir titled “My Next Breath.

Indeed, Renner is not only alive but also disclosed an extraordinary experience. He shared that following the snowplow incident, he momentarily passed away and then encountered something beautiful on the other side.

In my next breath, as I found myself on the icy ground, my heart began to slow. On that fateful New Year’s Day, unbeknownst to my precious daughter, my cherished sisters, my dearest friends, my beloved father, and my adored mother, I simply grew weary.

Following approximately thirty minutes skating on the ice, it felt as if I was exerting myself just as much as performing multiple push-ups continuously for half an hour. At that point, I experienced a state similar to exhaustion, almost like death. And, surprisingly, that’s exactly where I found myself – dying right there in my driveway on the way to my house.

He confirmed, “I indeed experienced death,” and went on to explain that the EMTs indicated his heart rate had fallen to nearly zero, implying he was practically unconscious. It was a harrowing event for his loved ones, but the Hollywood star expressed a sense of tranquility during this life-threatening moment.

Upon my passing, I experienced an unending, stunningly beautiful and marvelous energy,” he explained further. “It was devoid of any sense of time, location, or boundaries, and there was nothing to perceive except a peculiar, bi-directional vision woven from threads of that incomprehensible energy.

In another part of the conversation, he expressed, “On that ice, I felt a thrilling calmness, a powerful surge of adrenaline that was strangely soothing all at once: a charged stillness.

In the instant of my demise, I had a momentary glimpse into the entirety of my life. It could have lasted merely seconds or extended for minutes; perhaps it stretched on indefinitely. The duration is uncertain – it might have been fleeting or eternal. Regardless of its length, there was no sense of time passing, and yet it seemed to encompass every moment, past, present, and future.

He remarked that every moment of life had been wonderful, and even beyond death, everything and everyone dear to him seemed to be by his side.

Even though he found a brief respite, Renner couldn’t shake off an inner voice urging him not to “relent”. He was pulled back from the edge of his thoughts. Looking back now, he regrets the ordeal his loved ones endured.

He went on to say, “Yes, it was an ‘accident,’ yet regardless of what term I use, I acknowledge that my actions led to it.” He clarified, “It wasn’t intentional, and I don’t believe it was reckless, but I must accept the consequence of not applying the hand brake on the Snowcat.

I am fully aware of the actions I took towards Alex, and I feel that deeply when it comes to my family. The pain that has been caused is something I brought about, and it rests solely on my shoulders.

For nearly an hour, I transferred my intense fear and horror onto Alex, making him hold my arm while witnessing his uncle bleed profusely on the ice. The traumatic experience will forever change him due to my actions, as he cannot erase that horrifying image from his mind.

None of my relatives who visited me in the hospital, while I was on life support for three days and facing imminent death, were able to recognize me. My daughter, overwhelmed by a silent sadness that only a child could feel, found solace in old videos of us.

Inside the snowplow incident 

On New Year’s Day 2023, an accident occurred near the Nevada residence of actor Jeremy Renner, located in Lake Tahoe. In an effort to prevent a PistenBully snowcat from sliding and colliding with his 27-year-old nephew, Alexander Fries, Renner tried to intervene.

However, as a result of this action, he was unfortunately trapped beneath the vehicle and sustained severe injuries. These included 38 fractured bones, a crushed lung, punctured liver, and substantial brain trauma. Additionally, he lost approximately six pints of blood.

In his autobiography, the actor described how his relatives observed him becoming a pale shade of blue-green. However, the most critical threat during that time was the potential onset of hypothermia, as he lay in the snow for more than 45 minutes before emergency services arrived.

Despite suffering fractures in over 30 bones and losing approximately six pints of blood, which I would later discover was the extent of my injuries, a far greater threat to me as time passed on the ice was hypothermia, Renner penned.

In a turn of events I’ll never forget, it was entirely by chance that the whole incident unfolded. I found myself saying, “In that instant, I forgot to set the parking brake, or release the steel tracks. It was a seemingly insignificant, yet profound lapse in concentration – a fleeting, unconscious mistake – that would irrevocably alter the trajectory of my life thereafter.

Renner had quite the journey on his path to healing, requiring numerous operations and extensive rehabilitation sessions. Yet, just like an inspiring superhero, he managed to make an astonishing return.

Previously, it was disclosed that he would appear in the upcoming third installment of Knives Out, titled Wake Up Dead Man, marking his return to filmmaking following an accident, scheduled for release later in 2023.

After coming so perilously close to dying, it surprisingly rejuvenated his existence. In his own words, “I understood back then, and I understand now, every day since and forevermore: Death should not be feared.
