Jeremy Allen White Sings ‘Born to Run’ as Bruce Springsteen Biopic Debuts Heart-Tugging First Trailer at CinemaCon

At CinemaCon 2025, Jeremy Allen White demonstrated his suitability for the tightly-fitted denim reminiscent of Bruce Springsteen, captivating audiences with a gripping first trailer for the upcoming biopic based on the “Dancing in the Dark” singer.

White, who has won numerous golden trophies for his work on Hulu’s “The Bear,” attended this year’s gathering of cinema owners with co-star Jeremy Strong in attendance. During Disney’s presentation at the event, White chatted with new distribution chief Andrew Cripps about their upcoming film, named “Deliver Me From Nowhere.” The actor shared some insights on the challenges the movie poses.

White expressed it was an amazing, tough, and long-cherished experience. He feels incredibly fortunate. Everyone had Bruce’s approval. The movie narrates a crucial juncture in Bruce’s life, where he grapples with the tensions between his achievements and his past.

A special theater-only trailer commences with White appearing as Springsteen on a New Jersey car dealership, trying out a Chevy 305. The car salesman, peering in, identifies him, to which White responds with a smile, “It seems we both know each other now.

Jon Landau, a key figure as both manager and trusted advisor to Bruce Springsteen, assisted him in the early ’80s by helping him ignore the clamor of fame and pressures of expectations, allowing him to focus on his artistic pursuits more deeply. A series of scenes featuring a young Springsteen unfold, depicting a father (portrayed by Stephen Graham, who gained prominence in the series “Adolescence” and co-created it) striving to mold a fighter within his son, and a mother attempting to instill compassion and elegance in him.

As a movie reviewer, I’d say:

“From a young age, Bruce had an unusual predicament – a gaping hole in his bedroom floor where solidity was expected. This wasn’t just a physical void for him to avoid stepping on, but a symbol of the emptiness that marked his existence.

Fast-forward to now, Bruce is no longer just a repairman mending broken appliances, he’s embarking on a more personal mission with this album. He’s filling in that hole in his floor, healing that void within himself. Once he’s managed to mend his own fractures, he aims to fix the world as a whole.

The video concludes with White’s most challenging scene from the movie – a real-life rendition of Springsteen’s legendary song, “Born to Run.” White delivers a convincing performance of Springsteen’s gravelly voice, flinging his wet hair on stage and executing a split that causes his electric guitar to hit the floor with him.

Searchlight Pictures will release “Deliver Me From Nowhere” in late 2025.
