YouTube personality Jentzen Ramirez has addressed the allegations brought forth by his mother, Johna Kay Ramirez, as featured in the Netflix documentary series titled “Bad Influence: The Hidden Dangers of Kidfluencing”. Please note that some viewers might find this topic upsetting.
The upcoming documentary explores a number of troubling allegations against Tiffany Smith, Piper’s mother, including accusations of exploitation, manipulation, and abuse of power within the influential children’s group, The Squad, she is part of.
As a gamer, I’m part of this online community where social media sensation Jentzen is also present. In the game “Bad Influence”, his estranged mom, Johna, alleges that Tiffany created a divide between them, leading to a family rift. According to Johna, Tiffany told me (Jentzen) that she only cared about the money, which is her perspective on our relationship.
By December 2020, there was no more communication between them, and Johna claims that Tiffany intentionally made a YouTube video at her home as a warning. However, Jentzen has finally spoken out about this incident.
Jentzen slams “lies” in Piper Rockelle documentary
In a YouTube video posted on April 13th, Jentzen asserts that he felt compelled to clarify his stance following the Netflix documentary series. He alleges that his mother took advantage of him financially, but denies that Tiffany coerced him into making the choices he did.
Originally, the ex-Squad member had hoped to restore their connection with Johna. However, he found it challenging when she chose to disclose their circumstances publicly through an article.
He clarifies that after his mother chose to reveal our family’s tale on one of the largest streaming platforms globally, he found himself in a position where he had to speak up. However, he emphasizes that his intention isn’t to criticize his mom. In fact, he never desired for any of this situation to unfold.
In the early days of his YouTube channel, Jentzen’s mom was there helping out with his content.
However, without informing me or obtaining my approval, she secretly established a business using my name. She illegally signed contracts that gave her ownership of half my company, entitling her to 50% of the income I generated – this includes 50% of my YouTube AdSense earnings and 50% of any brand deals I secured.
In the documentary, both my mother and Jennifer claimed that Tiffany made me believe my mom was taking my money dishonestly. However, Tiffany never did this. I had no reason to be deceived since what they were saying was actually true.
In the entire video, Jentzen provides various pieces of evidence like legal documents, bank statements, and messages to back up his remarks. He explains that Johna refused brand deals not due to any issues with the agreements themselves, but rather out of fear that she might not receive a share of the profits.
The situation grew more intricate when his parents parted ways. Although his sister was designated as his temporary guardian by the court due to his minor status, this arrangement was limited to making personal decisions on his behalf.
Due to the fact that his mother retained control over half of their family business, his sister found herself unable to make any financial decisions or handle matters related to the company. To add to her predicament, every decision required court approval.
He explains further, “I wound up spending $17,500 to get my mom to give me some space. The reason for this, as I previously mentioned, was so I could legally become independent – a process known as emancipation. This wasn’t about not wanting my mom to be my mother; it was because I found myself in a situation where I needed freedom.
In order to emphasize why my mother was dishonest in that documentary, I became independent from her a few years following my departure from ‘The Squad.’ For about the same duration, I didn’t have any contact with Tiffany,” he explains.
In his account, Jentzen points out several instances where he believes Johna behaved inappropriately, one of which was attending Disneyland for Piper Rockelle’s birthday celebration. Remarkably, Johna’s mother contacted the Anaheim Police Department and submitted a missing person’s report concerning her son.
The entire scenario made him feel quite apprehensive when the police arrived, patted him down, and escorted him outside, all while he was awaiting John’s arrival.
Additionally, he alleges that she invited his former girlfriend to his grandma’s funeral, snooped through his private text conversations, and installed surveillance cameras throughout their home for monitoring purposes.
In conclusion, Jentzen expresses his stance on the sexual abuse allegations against Tiffany, stating, “It’s important for everyone to realize that I wholeheartedly stand with survivors of such traumatic experiences. My sympathies are extended to each and every survivor, and I empathize deeply with your struggles.
In addition, let me clarify that this video isn’t intended to belittle or challenge those who have gone through the same situation. My intentions are purely different. However, I haven’t had that particular experience myself, and I don’t wish to be associated with that storyline without my approval.
I have issues with how Netflix depicted the events, particularly regarding my mother. To set the record straight, I believe that their portrayal may have infringed upon my publicity rights as outlined in California law.
Viewers still believe Tiffany Smith should be “behind bars”
Since its debut, the video has garnered over half a million views and attracted thousands of comments. Many of these comments suggest that Jentzen’s personal experiences and the accusations against Tiffany are not mutually exclusive.
One person pointed out, “Just because Jentzen didn’t endure abuse from Tiffany doesn’t imply the other Squad members were spared too.” They were merely stating they weren’t affected, not suggesting Tiffany is innocent. She should face justice and potentially be incarcerated.
One individual stated, “Tiffany’s allegations and Jentzen’s account of his relationship with his mother can both be true. Jentzen isn’t refuting the claims made by another former squad member about Tiffany.
He’s expressing that his issue isn’t specifically with the documentary, but rather the general unfortunate state of affairs for the squad members. He wishes peace for all involved.
A third person chimed in, saying, “To be honest, we all feel Tiffany is an abuser. However, we can also concur that most parents prioritized money over protecting their children.
In a fourth’s response, “Jentzen doesn’t endorse Tiffany or her behavior; rather, he never had a bad encounter with her, and any negative interaction was overshadowed by his mother’s actions.
