Jensen Ackles calls The Boys spinoff Vought Rising a “thrill ride” as filming finishes

Filming has wrapped on ‘Vought Rising,’ the new series based on ‘The Boys,’ and Jensen Ackles, who plays Soldier Boy, describes it as a very exciting show.

With its fifth season on the way this year, The Boys is nearing its end, but the universe isn’t stopping there. Spinoffs like Gen V and the upcoming Vought Rising show that Prime Video plans to continue exploring this gritty world for quite some time.

Inspired by the comic book series by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson, Vought Rising will delve into the history of Vought International, showing how the company first began building its superhero team in the 1950s.

With the first season of Vought Rising completed, actor Jensen Ackles described the show as a very exciting and fast-paced experience.

Jared Padalecki, who plays Ben/Soldier Boy, is heading up Vought Rising and shared an Instagram video marking the last day of shooting for the prequel series.

Man, I’m so stoked we wrapped up the project with such a high note! It’s been an insane journey, honestly. Huge thanks to the whole team and everyone involved – they poured their hearts and souls into this, and I wouldn’t have traded it for anything. They’re all a little crazy, but that’s exactly why I love working with them!

The video features a sneak peek at Jensen Ackles’ Soldier Boy costume from the 1950s. It’s noticeably more colorful than the darker green suit and protective vest he wore in Season 3 of The Boys.

For the upcoming series, Vought Rising, he’ll be sporting a vibrant green suit and red boots. He playfully mentioned in a video that it takes a team to help him get into the costume, saying, “It usually takes three people, but today it’s five! We’ve got two departments working on it – it’s quite a process!”

Jared Padalecki won’t be alone – Aya Cash is returning as Klara Risinger, also known as Stormfront. The new show will be a dark and complicated murder mystery, revealing how the powerful company Vought International first began. Mason Dye, Elizabeth Posey, Will Hochman, and Mark Pellegrino are also part of the cast.
