Jennifer Garner Got Stuck in an Elevator for 1 Hour and 11 Minutes at Comic-Con: ‘I Could Use a Wolverine. I Could Use a Deadpool’

As a movie reviewer with a background in journalism, I’ve covered my fair share of red carpet events and Hollywood premieres. But nothing could have prepared me for Jennifer Garner‘s unforgettable experience at Comic-Con this year.

Warning: The following story may reveal details from the current movie “Deadpool & Wolverine” now showing in cinemas. (For those who prefer to avoid spoilers)

Last weekend, Jennifer Garner made her debut at Comic-Con and the experience became particularly memorable when she found herself trapped in an elevator for over an hour. She shared this unexpected adventure with her Instagram followers through a video post. After being stuck for just two minutes, Garner expressed her frustration to the camera: “I really wish Wolverine or Deadpool were here to help us out. We’re definitely searching for an escape route now.”

After 35 minutes, Garner chose to take a seat and shared: “It seems I picked up this idea from an episode of ‘The Office’ or ‘Brooklyn Nine-Nine’, or perhaps somewhere else, that one should rest. So we’re doing just that.”

Firefighters managed to open the door and free Garner and her team an hour and 11 minutes after they became trapped in the elevator. They made the decision to phone 911 after spending 45 minutes stuck inside.

At Comic-Con, Garner made a surprise appearance, referencing her role as Elektra in “Deadpool & Wolverine” – a movie where she reprised her character from “Daredevil” (2003) and “Elektra” (2005). After the screening of this film in Hall H, Reynolds, Jackman, and director Shawn Levy introduced the special screening. To the delight of Marvel fans, they brought out some major cameos during the Q&A session following the screening.

As a movie buff, I’ve got some exciting news to share! In July 2023, I heard from reliable sources like EbMaster that the amazing Elodie Yung was reprising her role as Elektra in “Deadpool & Wolverine.” With Marvel fans eagerly anticipating her return, this cameo was practically a given.

“Back then, she expressed her regret that when Kevin took charge, the quality of the writing, direction, and comedy in their stories significantly improved for her, but unfortunately, she didn’t get to enjoy that experience herself.”

Currently, Garner experiences being part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe through her appearance as Elektra in “Daredevil & Wolverine,” generating a massive box office debut of approximately $211 million during its first weekend.

“Currently showing in cinemas across the country: ‘Deadpool’ and ‘Wolverine’. For a sneak peek, check out Garner’s entire elevator pitch in the following post.”
