Jaume Collet-Serra to Direct Psychological Thriller ‘An Innocent Girl’ for Netflix (EXCLUSIVE)

Filmmaker Jaume Collet-Serra will take charge of the intense, psychological drama titled “An Innocent Girl” for streaming platform Netflix.

The movie’s tagline is “A driven young woman gets entangled in a perilous web of sex, power, and homicide when she becomes ensnared by a powerful Washington couple.

The screenplay was written by Michael Mohan (“Immaculate”), and is now being refined by Marc Guggenheim (known for his work on “Arrow” and “Carnival Row”).

Greg Berlanti and Sarah Schechter will be in charge of producing “An Innocent Girl” under the banner of their production company, Berlanti /Schechter Films. This is another project that arises from their creative collaboration with Netflix. Marc Guggenheim, Mike McGrath, and Scott Greenberg are serving as executive producers for this venture.

Director Jaume Collet-Serra achieved the second highest number of views on Netflix with the film “Carry On,” which features Taron Egerton and Jason Bateman. With a staggering 172.1 million viewings, this Christmas-themed action thriller has been streamed for more than 344.1 million hours.

In January, Collet-Serra expressed his readiness for another installment of the thrilling airport movie. “I’d definitely be interested in making another one,” he said. “When we began with the film, it seemed like a unique story at a specific moment in time with a particular set of characters. If we can come up with an idea that feels just as original as the first one and connects with the audience in the same way, then we’ll certainly consider it.

Collet-Serra has previously directed films such as “The Woman in the Backyard,” “Jungle Voyage,” and “The Depths.” His upcoming project is a remake of the 1993 film “Cliffhanger,” which will feature Lily James and Pierce Brosnan.
