It’s a thrilling moment for “Harry Potter” enthusiasts, with the latest casting updates for HBO’s upcoming series adaptation and the unexpected announcement that Tom Felton, original actor of Draco Malfoy, will reprise his role in the Broadway production of “Harry Potter and the Cursed Child.” One individual who can’t hide his excitement is Jason Isaacs, who played Lucius Malfoy in the movie series starting from 2002’s “Chamber of Secrets.” Isaacs expressed his support for Felton’s comeback as Draco on social media.
Isaacs can’t contain his excitement; he’s going to be there, front and center, tearing up a bit, as Felton takes on the role of Draco once more. After the announcement, he quickly secured his tickets for November.
For 19 weeks starting from November 11, Felton will take on the role of Draco in a Broadway production. He shared with EbMaster during the Tony Awards red carpet that the most thrilling aspect is performing live. Typically, it takes around nine months to film a movie, but this is condensed into one. The story has been reimagined into a heartwarming, fresh narrative. Additionally, he gets to play a father, which he finds enjoyable.
Moreover, a fresh Draco has emerged, as Lox Pratt steps into the shoes of the “Harry Potter” character in HBO’s upcoming television series. Previously seen alongside Isaac in the 2021 historical war drama “Operation Mincemeat,” Johnny Flynn now assumes the role of Lucius Malfoy. Isaacs endorsed Flynn for his new part on social media with a warm welcome.
Isaacs praised him as an exceptional actor, kind soul, and frustratingly talented musician. He couldn’t have chosen a more suitable successor for the position with the serpent-adorned baton. But please, let’s keep him from singing…
Isaacs expressed in an Instagram video: “Exciting news for Harry Potter enthusiasts like myself! I’ve worked with the incredibly talented Johnny Depp before, and I know you’ll be just as captivated by him in this upcoming project. I can hardly wait to see his performance. Johnny, if you happen to catch this video, have a fantastic time! And here’s a bit of advice: Be wary of those mischievous elves; they might seem innocent but watch out for their deceitful tricks! Enjoy your journey, I’ll meet you at Hogwarts.
