Nine individuals have publicly alleged that Jared Leto has acted inappropriately and committed sexual misconduct, as reported by Air Mail. Some of these women assert they were minors at the time of these encounters. In Instagram stories, DJ Allie Teilz wrote, “You’re not really in L.A. until Jared Leto tries to force himself on you backstage… Wearing a kilt.. And a snow hat,” as reported by Air Mail. “I was assaulted and traumatized by this man when I was 17.” Other accusations include a woman who claims Leto asked her inappropriate questions when she was 16, another who said Leto initiated text conversations with her while she was still a minor, then exposed himself to her after she turned 18.
16-year-old Model Laura La Rue states that she encountered Leto at an event for animal rights. They began texting and she frequently visited his studio. According to La Rue, on one occasion when she was 17, Leto entered a room without clothes as if it were ordinary. She recalled thinking, “Perhaps this is just what grown men do.” However, through his representatives, Leto denies all accusations.
For a considerable period, it’s no secret hidden away, as one woman put it. In 2018, signs of this became evident when Dylan Sprouse and James Gunn openly discussed what they perceived as predatory actions by Leto. Following the Margot Robbie dead rat incident, Sprouse tweeted, “Hey @JaredLeto, now that you’ve attempted to contact every female model aged 18–25, what would be your approximate success rate?” To which Gunn responded, “He starts at 18 on the internet?” This suggests a pattern of behavior that began online when Leto was 18 years old.
