Japanese government releases free Minecraft map you can play right now

The Japanese government has made available for free a Minecraft model showcasing the globe’s biggest subterranean flood-diversion system. Feel free to explore it immediately!

According to Automaton’s findings, Japan’s Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism (MLIT) has made available a complimentary Minecraft terrain. This extensive level showcases the Metropolitan Area Outer Underground Discharge Channel, the world’s biggest underground floodwater redirection system.

Constructed in 2006, these well-recognized structures are commonly referred to as G-Cans. They serve a crucial purpose during typhoon seasons by managing floodwaters. As stated on the Japan Travel website, these structures redirect water from heavy downpours approximately seven times a year, preventing the northern Tokyo region’s streets from transforming into rivers.

The well-recognized construction boasts an immense network of concrete tunnels, reaching 50 meters below ground and spanning a length of 6.3 kilometers. As depicted in the video, visitors can journey into this renowned structure to witness the functioning of its flood control system, all while being awestruck by the colossal pillars lining the tunnel.

As a dedicated enthusiast, I’d like to share that I’ve meticulously replicated the colossal shaft, grandiose pressure-regulating tank, drainage pump apparatus, and other distinctive elements of the Metropolitan Area Outer Underground Discharge Channel, just as Japanese government officials have described.

Government officials explained that the purpose of replicating the flood control system is to educate players on the significance of infrastructure growth and building disaster mitigation structures.

In developing our Minecraft world, we referenced authentic blueprints and aimed for realism. Moreover, the game offers unique experiences, like exploring areas typically inaccessible in Minecraft.
