James Van Der Beek’s brother, Jared, shared a touching message following his brother’s death on February 11th. In a February 13th Instagram post, Jared described the unique connection between brothers and how deeply he felt the loss. He explained that the pain of losing someone so close was overwhelming, far greater than he imagined. He shared that his brother was his confidant and role model, someone he’d always relied on and looked up to since birth.
Jared shared that it was incredibly moving to see how many people’s lives his friend had touched, not through any specific accomplishment, but simply by being himself – kind, generous, and wise. While deeply saddened by the loss, Jared felt comforted by the overwhelming love, prayers, and support received. He expressed sincere gratitude to everyone who reached out and acknowledged the incredible compassion shown by those who were present during his final moments.
