James Gunn's Creature Commandos Gets December Release Window And New Trailer

As a dedicated gamer and longtime fan of DC Comics, I couldn’t be more thrilled about the upcoming animated show “Creature Commandos.” The trailer released by DC recently has only fueled my excitement as we get a glimpse into this unique take on the Suicide Squad concept.

I’m thrilled as a fan to share that DC has unveiled the initial trailer for their upcoming animated series, Creature Commandos. This venture is among the first under James Gunn’s new leadership and is slated for release towards the end of this year in December. The show echoes themes similar to Suicide Squad, as it follows a band of villains assigned perilous missions on behalf of the US administration.

Through a recently released trailer on Max’s YouTube channel, we gain a better understanding of the show’s content. In “Creature Commandos,” Rick Flag heads a squad of villains who aren’t human: The Bride, Dr. Phosphorus, Weasel, G.I. Robot, Nina Mazursky, and Frankenstein. While adhering to Amanda Waller’s instructions, this team distinguishes itself from the predominantly human Suicide Squad, with Waller labeling it as Task Force M (representing “monster”) instead of Task Force X.

Despite the limited preview of the storyline, Creature Commandos is expected to preserve the comedic elements found in Gunn’s previous DC productions like The Suicide Squad and Peacemaker. Viola Davis will continue her portrayal of Amanda Waller, while David Harbour (Stranger Things), Sean Gunn (Guardians of the Galaxy), and Frank Grillo (Captain America: The Winter Soldier) are among the cast members joining the project.

As a passionate gamer and avid fan of DC’s animated superhero shows, I’ve got some exciting news for you! Recently, DC Studios didn’t just release “Suicide Squad Isekai” into the world. This isn’t the sole fresh addition to their collection. In fact, last month saw the debut of this captivating series where Harley Quinn and her band of notorious villains find themselves transported into a mesmerizing high-fantasy realm. Rest assured, “Suicide Squad Isekai” has no connection whatsoever with “Creature Commandos.” So, get ready for an entirely new adventure!
