While a new actor will soon be taking on the role, fans are revisiting ‘s popular portrayal of the iconic spy, making that film a hit on Pluto TV.
Pluto TV has finished building out its collection of James Bond films by adding several previously unavailable titles. While most Bond movies were already available, the streaming service recently added classics starring Sean Connery – Dr. No, From Russia with Love, and Goldfinger – as well as Daniel Craig’s Spectre, completing the full line-up. Interestingly, another Bond film has recently become very popular with viewers on the platform.
Skyfall was Craig’s third James Bond film, and it revitalized the series after the lukewarm reception of Quantum of Solace. It became the highest-grossing Bond movie ever (without adjusting for inflation), earning $1.1 billion worldwide. Though not quite as critically acclaimed as Casino Royale, Skyfall pleased fans with a compelling villain played by Javier Bardem, and the memorable, impactful death of Judi Dench’s character, M.
The film is a hit, proving James Bond remains incredibly popular, even after countless viewings of his thrilling adventures.
The Future of the Bond Franchise Is Going to Be Different

Sony Pictures Releasing
As a huge James Bond fan, what’s always been so cool about the series is that we’ve seen so many different actors play 007 – and now we’re getting another new Bond! But this time, it feels even bigger than just a new face. It’s the first time in forever that Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson aren’t directly involved in making the movie, and they’ve really been the heart and soul of Bond for so long. It’s a bit strange to think about, honestly!
Amazon MGM Studios is fully in charge of the next James Bond film, Bond 26, and it will be directed by Denis Villeneuve, the director of Dune. Stephen Knight, known for his work on Peaky Blinders, is writing the screenplay. Casting for the iconic role of James Bond is currently underway, and while several actors are considered frontrunners, it’s still unclear who will ultimately get the part.
It’s clear that the new James Bond team and Amazon MGM Studios have a significant challenge ahead. They need to honor the elements that have made the franchise successful for over 60 years, while also finding ways to attract new viewers. Although Denis Villeneuve and his team are capable of meeting this challenge, we likely won’t see the result until 2028 – a full seven years after Daniel Craig’s last Bond film, No Time to Die, released in 2021.
