“CBS Media Ventures is taking on more challenges. The syndication company has given a definite green light to ‘The Perfect Line,’ a new game show hosted by Deborah Norville, set to debut in fall 2025. At the same time, it has also extended ‘Flip Side,’ another CBS game show hosted by Jaleel White, for a second season. John Budkins, the executive VP of programming and syndication production for CBS Media Ventures and Stations, made this announcement on Monday.
As a movie critic, I’ve been thrilled to witness ‘Flip Side’ skyrocket in popularity during its debut season. The viewership increased an impressive 23% from October to February, largely due to Jaleel’s captivating charm, hilarious wit, and a game that truly struck a chord with the audience.
This upcoming fall, we’re eagerly preparing to capitalize on this success by introducing our latest game show, ‘The Perfect Line.’ With the respected Deborah Norville steering the ship and a brand-new game format, we aim to serve up another winning recipe for viewers.
Initially created as a complement to ‘The Flip Side’, ‘The Perfect Line’ was first acquired by the CBS Stations group in December. Now, it has been purchased by broadcasters representing approximately 90% of the nation.
Regarding “Flip Side,” the program has been approved for broadcast on stations reaching approximately 95% of the nation, according to CBS Media Ventures. To date in this season, it’s attracting an average viewership of 1.01 million, positioning it as the fourth most popular syndicated game show behind “Wheel of Fortune,” “Jeopardy!,” and “Family Feud.
In an upcoming board game called “The Perfect Line,” by CMYK, players will face questions spanning various subjects such as world events, pop culture, sports, science, and more. Each round, contestants are assigned a category and must arrange related items, people or events in the correct order. For example, they might need to put six actors in the order of their worldwide box office success. The player who successfully creates “the perfect line” progresses while others are eliminated. The last remaining player gets to play the final round for a chance at winning $10,000.
The program is broadcasted by CBS Media Ventures. Michael Binkow serves as the main producer, with Chana Shwadlenak sharing this role as co-executive producer. Jon Barinholtz, Robert Belushi, Justin Vickers, and Alex Hague are also involved in executive production.
Titled “The Flip Side,” this show, inspired by the format of Keller Noll, presents two competing teams who aim to predict the sentiments of two distinct groups regarding a common issue. The contestants select from various options, with the correct answer earning them the prize money. CBS Media Ventures is responsible for its distribution, and Eric Pierce, Matt Laesch, Jaleel White, Ken Ross, Cleve Keller, and Dave Noll are its executive producers.
