Jake Paul Told to Wait Until Canelo Retires

Boxing champion Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez has made public the fresh terms for his upcoming bout with Jake Paul, as well as clarified reasons behind the previous fight’s cancellation.

Initially, it appeared that Jake Paul’s ambition within the boxing world was solely focused on fighting KSI. Yet, as the ‘Problem Child’, he’s broadened his horizons significantly, setting his sights on some of the most prominent figures in the realm of combat sports.

Various figures such as Conor McGregor, Tyson Fury, and Alex Pereria have caught his attention in the past. Nevertheless, it seems that Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez, the Mexican icon, might be his most significant objective to date. At first, Canelo was not interested in a fight, but recently, he appears to have become more open to the idea.

Originally scheduled to battle it out in Las Vegas on Cinco de Mayo, Canelo Alterred those plans unexpectedly at the final hour. Instead, he signed a four-fight contract with Riyadh Season, effectively pushing a matchup with Jake far beyond reach.

Canelo won’t fight Jake until he retires

Previously silent about the fight’s cancellation, the super-middleweight title holder let out a taunting remark through a tweet directed at Jake: “Canelo battles genuine opponents.

Now, it’s clear that Canelo has disclosed his intended schedule for battling the boxer who originated from YouTube.

He expressed that his goal is to keep creating historical moments, and he doesn’t view his upcoming boxing match against Paul as a regular fight; instead, it feels more like a significant event. He mentioned this during an interview with CBS Sports after agreeing to fight William Scull, hinting at a future date for this event, possibly after his retirement.

Canelo Alvarez has expressed before that he’s open to facing Jake Paul when the latter retires. However, Jake Paul considers this potential match-up as an opportunity for a world title bout at some stage in the future.

Jake doesn’t have his next fight lined up just yet, but he has been targeting big names.

He stated that Floyd ‘Money’ Mayweather prefers him to be at a weight of 160lbs if they were to face each other in a match. However, he mentioned on his brother Logan’s YouTube channel that it is not even physically feasible for him to reach that weight.

So, we’ll just have to wait and see what happens.
