Jake Paul’s boxing career has taken a significant step forward as he’s now been assigned a world ranking in the Cruiserweight category, making him eligible to compete for a world championship. Indeed!
As a fervent admirer looking back, when Jake Paul initially dipped his toes in the boxing realm, he mirrored many other YouTubers, employing the sport as a means to resolve his digital disputes. Yet, over time, he’s managed to shake things up significantly.
The ‘Troublesome Prodigy’ has now become determined to claim a global championship and challenge some of the top boxers in the circuit. His journey towards this goal began with victories against Andre August, Ryan Bourland, and Mike Tyson.
It had been proposed that if Jake managed to defeat Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. in a convincing manner, at least one of the boxing boards – specifically, the WBA – would acknowledge him by ranking him. Although he didn’t manage to secure a knockout, it ended up being a unanimous decision win, which ultimately led to a change in the rankings within the WBA.
Jake Paul is now ranked by WBA
As a gaming enthusiast, I’ve got to say, that boxing streamer has made it big! Now, he’s officially ranked, which means he’s stepping into the ring for some serious world championship battles.
14th in the global ranking for Cruiserweights is Jake, with Giovanni Cristian Scuderi of Italy occupying the position above him. Notably, Scuderi has been competing predominantly in the Heavyweight division lately.
Before defeating Cesar Chavez Jr., Jake mentioned to ESPN that discussions were underway with WBC Cruiserweight champion Badou Jack regarding a possible match. But for such an encounter to materialize, Jake would first require a WBC ranking.

Winning recognition from the World Boxing Association allows him an opportunity to challenge Gilberto ‘Zurdo’ Ramirez for the title. Ramirez, aged 34, holds a record of 48 wins and 1 loss, and he successfully defended his WBA (Super) and WBO cruiserweight belts during the undercard of Jake’s last victory.
As a gamer in the ring, I’m all about seizing opportunities and making strategic moves. Right now, I’m engaged in talks with Jai Opetaia to consolidate the Cruiserweight division, but there’s another challenge that’s catching my eye – Jake. I can’t wait to see where these negotiations lead!
After securing his victory over Yuniel Dorticos, he declared, “Should he choose to engage, I’m ready for the contest.
