It’s a pleasure to announce that Josh has joined Nine Stories as our president. I hold him in high regard due to his extensive background and thorough understanding of the industry,” Gyllenhaal stated. “I am excited about collaborating with him to increase the variety of our compelling projects, spanning film, television, and live performances.
McLaughlin transitions to his new role from Wink Pictures, a company he founded, where he was involved in various projects spanning television, films, and podcasts. Before this, he spent a decade at Focus Features, rising to the position of production president, contributing to movies like “BlacKkKlansman,” “The Darkest Hour,” and “Phantom Thread.” He also teamed up with filmmakers such as David Leitch on “Atomic Blonde” starring Charlize Theron, Joel Edgerton on “Boy Erased,” and served as an executive producer for “Let Him Go,” featuring Kevin Costner and Diane Lane.
