Jack Doherty responds after being accused of viewbotting his wedding Twitch stream

As a seasoned gamer with decades of experience under my belt, I must say that the antics of Jack Doherty have left me both amused and dismayed. On one hand, it’s refreshing to see such an audacious character who doesn’t shy away from controversy. But on the other, his alleged viewbotting practices are a disappointing reminder of the darker side of the streaming community.

During his wedding livestream, Jack Doeherty spoke about the accusations of viewbotting he faced, following fan critiques.

On November 15th, the contentious internet personality Jack Doherty exchanged vows with his YouTube partner, McKinley Richardson. This pair, who started dating in 2023, became engaged earlier this year.

During their wedding, Doherty broadcasted the event live on Twitch for about five hours. Later, some fans started posting accusations on platform X that he had been using viewbotting – a method of increasing views or followers on social media artificially by employing bots.

A popular online post, viewed by more than 10 million people, claimed that Jack Doherty was found using view bots on the streaming platform Twitch. At the time of the alleged incident, he had only 3 active chat participants, but a total of 17,000 viewers.

It’s been discovered that Jack Doherty was using a bot to simulate chat activity on his Twitch stream, despite having 17,000 real viewers 😱.

In response to the post, Doherty stated, “I don’t engage with Twitch chat since I have an arrangement with [Parti]. As such, I solely monitor that chat, so no one needs to type in Twitch.

In response to increasing criticism about his content, he decided to make a video to clarify the accusations. “I’ve noticed on Twitter that people are saying I’ve been using viewbots,” he started off. “I recently got married, and I apologize for any viewers added to my stream. Unfortunately, there’s nothing I can do about it.

He continued, “And then everyone saying I don’t have a lot of chatters in my Twitch thing, it’s because I have a deal with Parti dot com, so I tell everyone to chat in the Parti dot com chat. Because that’s the only chat I read.”

In response to his critics, the streamer stated, “However, I just got married today, so let the naysayers step aside. Frankly, by the end of the day, most of you are financially strapped, which makes your commentary somewhat questionable.

Regardless of what he claimed, the opposition persisted unabated. For instance, one individual commented, “It seems like something a bot might say,” while another remarked, “The number of followers doesn’t add up.” A third person chimed in, “Definitely looks like bot activity to me.

Following an instance where Kai Cenat made fun of Jack Doherty, this event transpired after the popular Twitch personality deceived him into giving away 300 subscriptions as gifts under the pretense of a possible collaboration.
