The TNT police drama The Closer, which originally finished airing in 2012, had faded from view over the years. But recently, it’s become surprisingly popular again thanks to PVOD (Pay-Per-View on Demand), finding a new audience 14 years after its last episode.

Assassination Classroom currently holds the No. 1 position, followed by the classic series The Six Million Dollar Man at No. 2. The Closer Had a Successful 7-Season Run
The television series The Closer aired on TNT from 2005 to 2012. Created by James Duff, Michael M. Robin, and Greer Shephard, the show starred Kyra Sedgwick as Brenda Leigh Johnson, the deputy chief of the LAPD’s Major Crimes Division. Sedgwick’s character was a highly skilled CIA-trained interrogator known as a “closer”—someone adept at getting confessions and securing convictions. The series also featured J.K. Simmons (known for roles in Oz and Spider-Man) as LAPD officer Will Pope.
The show featured a talented ensemble cast including Corey Reynolds as Sergeant David Gabriel, Robert Gossett as Commander Russell Taylor, G.W. The Closer Went Out on Top in 2012

Kyra Sedgwick ultimately decided it was time to pursue other opportunities, and honestly, TNT wasn’t willing to continue the series without her. She told the Christian Science Monitor that it just felt right to end things while the show was still strong, rather than risk it going on for too long and losing its impact. It was a smart move, and a classy exit.
As an actor, I really believe you have to trust your gut, she explained. It was a difficult choice, knowing it would affect so many people’s jobs. There were a lot of things to consider, but ultimately, it feels good to end things on a high note.
