Fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe have eagerly anticipated Disney’s introduction of the Fantastic Four and X-Men teams to the franchise ever since acquiring their film rights. The wait for the Fantastic Four will soon be over with the release of “The Fantastic Four: First Steps” in July, but the X-Men reboot is still on the horizon. I’ve been eagerly awaiting more news about the progress of the upcoming Marvel movie, and today, my anticipation was rewarded as rumors swirled regarding a potential director.
Following the announcement that Thunderbolts will appear in the 2025 movie lineup, Deadline reveals that Jake Schreier could potentially direct the X-Men reboot. Although it’s unknown where negotiations currently stand, Schreier is said to be Marvel Studios’ preferred candidate for this project. If he accepts the offer, Schreier will be working with a script penned by Michael Lesslie for the X-Men film.
