ITV Studios’ U.K. Unscripted Business, Producing Shows Like ‘Love Island,’ ‘I’m a Celebrity,’ to Be Led by Tim Carter

ITV Studios has appointed Tim Carter, the current CEO of ITV Studios’ divisions MultiStory Media and Twofour, to be the managing director of their Unscripted division in the U.K. This position was previously held by Angela Jain, who is now serving as the head of content for Disney+ in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.

He will take charge of all ITV Studios’ unscripted business in the UK, a division that comprises 11 different labels. This role places him under the supervision of Julian Bellamy, managing director at ITV Studios, and he will be part of the U.K. Management Team. These labels collectively oversee the development and production of some highly successful global formats, such as “Love Island,” “The Chase,” “I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here!”, “Come Dine With Me”, and upcoming shows like “The Neighbourhood”, “Celebrity Sabotage”, and “Sharks! Celebrity Infested Waters!”

In simple terms, the person will be in charge of the unscripted business (reality TV, game shows, etc.) for ITV Studios in the UK. They will work closely with Julian Bellamy and other members of the U.K. Management Team to create and produce popular television formats, both current like “Love Island” and upcoming shows such as “The Neighbourhood”.

Carter assumes control over the profit and loss statement for the U.K.’s unscripted division, meaning that the managing directors of the unscripted labels in the U.K. will report directly to him. He will collaborate with each label individually as well as with ITV Studios’ executive team to foster the ongoing expansion and progression of the U.K.’s unscripted sector.
