The upcoming month of August is shaping up to be quite challenging for devoted fans, as the popular Shonen Jump magazine has announced that the series inspired by giant monster movies is close to wrapping up.
Based on updates from the Shonen Jump News (previously Twitter), it has been confirmed that the popular manga series “Kaiju No. 8” will conclude after just two more chapters. The latest chapter, Chapter 127, was officially published on digital reading platforms like Manga Plus on June 5, 2025. The final chapter, Chapter 129, is expected to be released sometime in August. This news comes as the much-anticipated anime adaptation of “Kaiju No. 8” is scheduled to premiere on July 19, 2025.
Kaiju No. 8 Will End In 2 More Chapters in Shonen Jump+
For fans who’ve been reading “Kaiju No. 8” since its online debut on the Shonen Jump+ site, the sudden announcement of its ending might not come as a complete surprise. The latest installments have been gradually leading towards a climactic conclusion, much like previous Shonen Jump series, such as One Piece or Naruto. On the other hand, those who eagerly awaited “Kaiju No. 8” may find the news of its approaching finale startling, given that Season 2 is scheduled for July midway through.
Furthermore, a fresh video game adapting from the anime “Kaiju No. 8” is slated for launch later this summer or fall. The game introduces a new character: the older sister of Kikoru Shinomiya. This indicates that the “Kaiju No. 8” universe is still expanding, with more projects and merchandise on the horizon for the series’ followers. Despite some fans’ concerns about the potential conclusion of the anime, there seems to be an end in sight. However, if Season 2 covers enough of the source material, “Kaiju No. 8” may conclude in Season 3, assuming a third season is approved.
On July 3, 2020, Kaiju No. 8 debuted online via the Shonen Jump+ website. The series is penned and visualized by Naoya Matsumoto, who drew inspiration from the highly-rated 2016 release, [Kaiju] (not specified). Studio Khara, Inc., Anno’s animation studio, was responsible for designing the monsters in the Kaiju No. 8 anime series, produced by Production I.G.
