Players enjoyed Battlefield 6 for a short time, feeling it resembled the classic games for around 18 days. However, they say it quickly started to play more like Call of Duty, and the recently added Sabotage mode hasn’t improved things. Unlocking the new shotgun is particularly frustrating due to difficult, glitchy challenges and a lot of repetitive gameplay.
Battlefield 6 fans aren’t loving Sabotage
In Battlefield 6, Sabotage mode is an 8-versus-8 game where players battle as infantry in tight spaces. The goal is to either destroy or protect objective boxes before the time runs out. Attackers try to destroy as many boxes as possible, while defenders try to stop them. Boxes come in different sizes, and larger boxes are worth more points.
For Round 2, you and your team switch roles and now defend against the attackers. The challenge is based on how well you performed while attacking: if your team broke 25 boxes, you must prevent the other team from breaking 26. Similarly, if you completed the attack quickly, you’ll need to defend even faster.
Some players find this game mode dull and frustrating, particularly because of ongoing bugs and connection issues. They also feel that the ‘sabotage’ actions aren’t exciting enough – they were hoping for something more impactful than simply destroying crates.
Many players find the “300 revives or resupplies” challenge overly tedious. While it’s technically possible to unlock the DB-12 shotgun simply by gaining experience, doing so takes a very long time. This feels like another disappointment for Battlefield 6, which is currently the second lowest-rated game in the series on Steam, only slightly better than Battlefield 2042. One Reddit user summarized the issue, stating that the game seems designed to attract Call of Duty players rather than satisfying long-time Battlefield fans.
