As a seasoned gamer with over two decades under my belt, I can’t help but get excited about the potential of Dead by Daylight (DBD) collaborating with Tokyo Ghoul! With my fingers crossed and heart pounding like a drum, I’ve been following the rumors since they started swirling last October.

In March 2025, Dead by Daylight is expected to introduce a fresh licensed killer. Fans are speculating about the identity of this upcoming addition to the game’s roster of killers. There have been hints suggesting that the next DBD chapter could be based on Tokyo Ghoul. Here’s what we currently know about the potential collaboration between Dead by Daylight and Tokyo Ghoul, and what it might entail.

Tokyo Ghoul x Dead by Daylight Leaks & Rumors

2024 saw speculation rise about a potential Tokyo Ghoul sequel in October, as team members from Dead by Daylight, including Game Director Mathieu Cote, attended Blood Party Friday for a discussion on their game. During this gathering, they hinted at the possibility of additional Japanese-licensed content being added to the game, potentially implying that a fresh anime chapter could be underway.

Among numerous anime series that could potentially be adapted for Dead by Daylight, Tokyo Ghoul appears to be a strong contender. This year marks the 10th anniversary of Tokyo Ghoul, and enthusiasts continue to eagerly await significant updates related to the anime.

Among the potential upcoming announcements, there’s a strong possibility that Tokyo Ghoul will be added to Dead by Daylight as a new licensed content, and if so, the character likely to appear as the new Killer could very well be Ken Kaneki.

In celebration of DBD Day in Japan, Dave, Mathieu, and Janick appeared on Blood Party Friday, a popular Japanese online show, and shared some exciting news!

As a fan, I can imagine how exciting it would be to see Tokyo Ghoul in Dead by Daylight! Yet, I must admit that if it happens, it wouldn’t mark the first time DBD has collaborated with an anime. The game already boasts Attack on Titan skins for both Killers and Survivors, and even went a step further by adding a Castlevania chapter complete with Netflix anime-inspired skins!

Based on recent rumors, there might be plans for Tokyo Ghoul to join Dead by Daylight sometime in March or later. However, it’s crucial to stress that these leaks are unconfirmed, and Behaviour Interactive has not yet made an official announcement about a possible collaboration between the two games. As further details emerge, we will make sure to keep this information up-to-date.
