Is there romance in Star Wars Outlaws?

As a seasoned space adventurer and long-time Star Wars enthusiast, I must say that Star Wars Outlaws has managed to capture the essence of the galaxy far, far away while carving its own unique niche. However, when it comes to romantic entanglements, this game seems to be more focused on the hustle and bustle of being an outlaw than on matters of the heart.

In the world of Star Wars Outlaws, you’ll find all the thrilling elements typical of a space odyssey: unpredictable characters, laser skirmishes, robotic companions, interstellar voyages, and more. However, unlike Baldur’s Gate, where romance plays a significant role, it might be challenging to anticipate love stories in Star Wars Outlaws as its focus seems to be primarily on action and adventure.

Can you romance companions in Star Wars Outlaws?

In Star Wars Outlaws, there isn’t any romantic sentiment. Instead, Key develops affection primarily towards her adorable pet, Nix. The strongest sense of affection you might experience is when the ND-5 battle droid shields you from threats. However, the only other form of “love” one might find could be for the credits, as Key is relentlessly focused on amassing as much wealth as possible. Life as an outlaw in Star Wars isn’t simple.

Is there romance in Star Wars Outlaws?

The most you can hope for is to be respected in Star Wars Outlaws. By completing quests, your reputation among syndicates will grow, making you feel important and powerful. Honestly, Key doesn’t have time to deal with romantic feelings, as she plans to become a successful thief. She’s like Boba Fett, a loner looking to prove its worth in the underworld. That’s not to say she won’t fall for a Rebel when the time comes.

Considering the situation, it’s not as if Key has a suitable romantic prospect within the game, since all characters she encounters are either treacherous mobsters, traitorous rebels, or robots. Unless there’s an unexpected twist in the upcoming Star Wars Outlaws DLC, Key will continue to prioritize her career over romance.

1. I’m content with this decision, because it’s refreshing to have a character reminiscent of Andor centered around a mission. It seems that some fans had expectations for romantic options similar to Baldur’s Gate (perhaps Wookies over bears), but those won’t be featured in Outlaws – at least not yet.
