It’s always great to have numerous open-world survival games available, and one such addition is SurrounDead, a creation by Zurvivor studio. As an indie game, it was launched on Early Access, implying that ongoing improvements and new content are still being added. Given this context, those who backed the developers by buying the game are curious if multiplayer or cooperative modes will be introduced soon. The response to this query could be positive or negative for you, depending on whether you prefer playing solo or with others.
Coop in SurrounDead explained
The concept of Early Access means introducing additional features to a game following its initial launch, as these types of productions often lack fully implemented core mechanics and systems at first. As such, it’s no wonder that gamers are eagerly anticipating new features in the case of SurroundDead.
Without a doubt, one highly expected feature is the inclusion of the multiplayer option. Frankly, can anything beat exploring a perilous world alongside your companions in survival games? But here’s the question: Will players get to enjoy this feature in SurroundDead?
You’ll be happy to know that the response is affirmative. However, please bear with us as it will take some time. It’s no secret that we’re planning to incorporate a multiplayer feature into the game. This update has been clearly outlined in our roadmap, which can be found on the steam page of the game or within the roadmap tab of our Discord server.
While developers don’t view it as a priority to be implemented immediately in the game, they have structured their roadmap into five distinct phases. At present, the game is progressing through the initial phase, with work already completed on systems such as durability, inventory overhaul, and infestations. Interestingly, the multiplayer mode has been slated for implementation during phase 5.
As a passionate Zurvivor fan, I’m eagerly anticipating the introduction of fresh world events, an enriched quest system, and a more sophisticated human AI, which I believe are crucial elements for the game’s growth at this stage. It seems that the developers are focusing on these aspects to create a truly immersive experience, so while we can’t play together just yet, the wait promises to be worth it when we can finally enjoy the game with our friends in the near future!
