Is Taylor Swift Toy Story 5’s Mysterious TS?

Rumors are swirling that Taylor Swift might be contributing a song to the upcoming Toy Story 5! For over a month, fans have noticed hints pointing to her involvement, following in the footsteps of artists like Randy Newman and Sarah McLachlan. It started with a Toy Storythemed countdown on Swift’s website, and now billboards with ‘TS’ in the Toy Story font – featuring thirteen clouds – have appeared around the world. Pixar even subtly referenced her song “Shake It Off” when sharing a photo of one of the billboards. The cover art for her re-recorded album, 1989 (Taylor’s Version), briefly changed from seagulls to clouds. Adding to the speculation, Swift’s fiancé and future brother-in-law mentioned Buzz Lightyear and Randy Newman in a recent podcast episode. Some fans are even drawing connections between a recent New York Times* interview and potential themes for a new song about growing up and letting go.

There’s been speculation that Taylor Swift wrote a touching song about childhood for Bonnie in Toy Story 5. However, director Andrew Stanton recently told USA TODAY that wasn’t the case – they were surprised and honored by the rumors! He confirmed the song playing at the end of the movie isn’t a Taylor Swift track. But there’s still a possibility she contributed a song somewhere else in the film – we’ll have to wait and find out.
