The Bourne series began in 2002 with the release of The Bourne Identity, a fantastic film, followed by The Bourne Supremacy in 2004, which was great. The storyline then wrapped up in 2007 with The Bourne Ultimatum, an amazing installment. It came back to life in 2012 with The Bourne Legacy and in 2016 with Jason Bourne, but these subsequent films didn’t receive the same level of praise as their predecessors.
Now, a trailer has led people to believe that a sixth film is coming out in 2026 – but is it true?

It’s been confirmed that Jason Bourne 6 won’t be released in 2026, and the trailer you saw on YouTube was a hoax.

For example, if you thought Forrest Gump 2 was in the works, they’re to blame.
The channel frequently deceives its audience, creating either excitement or frustration with empty promises. One viewer expressed their frustration by saying, “Not this again… It’s great that they can produce a good film, but let’s try SOMETHING NEW instead.
For how much longer will they keep exploiting this deceased situation? But rest assured, it won’t happen anytime soon.
Will another Bourne movie happen?
It appears that a sixth film featuring the character from the Bourne series is currently being planned, though there’s doubt as to whether or not it will actually make it to theaters.
Jason Bourne, the movie, brought in a substantial profit of $415 million globally, outweighing its production cost of $120 million, making it profitable though not an extraordinary box office smash. However, its critical and audience response was divided, as indicated by Rotten Tomatoes scores of 55%.

Approximately two years after, franchise creator Ben Smith disclosed to CinemaBlend that a new movie was being developed, which would link up with Treadstone – a TV show based in the Bourne universe. Unfortunately, this series has since been terminated.
In 2023, news emerged about a sixth movie being planned, with Edward Berger, director of All Quiet on the Western Front, in charge. Recently, Damon spoke about this project, expressing his desire to collaborate with Berger, saying “He’s working on it.” (Variety)
