Is Helly Really Pregnant? Shocking Severance Season 2 Theory Revealed!

In the thrilling world of Severance Season 2, there’s a buzzing theory that I, as a gamer, can’t help but ponder: Helly might be expecting Mark’s baby! After the gripping events of Episode 6, it seems like this intriguing speculation could very well turn out to be true.

It remains unclear as Severance has yet to provide answers for several queries. Specifically, there are concerns about Cold Harbor and the destination of the elevator in the Exports Hall.

Episode 6 doesn’t provide a lot of explanations (apart from a small detail about Miss Huang). Yet, it significantly increases the conflict between Mark and Helena – in starkly contrasting manners for their Inner selves and Outer selves. To put it simply, Mark has an intimate encounter with Helly (after he was with Helena), and Mark’s Outer self encounters Helena for the first time. It’s a romantic situation… but then things get strange.

Following the ORTBO, I found myself convinced that Helly might be expecting a little one. Though the show hasn’t officially confirmed it, numerous hints point towards this being the direction the narrative is heading in.

Why Helly could be pregnant in Severance

In the second season of Severance, Mark and Helly, or perhaps their inner selves, have engaged in intimate relations on two occasions. While the use of protection isn’t explicitly shown, it’s worth noting that a potential pregnancy storyline for Helly or Helena could be a natural progression.

It appears that Helena is seeking genuine recognition, as evidenced by her actions throughout the season. For instance, she repeatedly watched a clip of herself kissing Mark at the start of the season, and she even imitated her Innie until she was found out during the ORTBO incident, where she initiated an intimate moment with his Innie.

Perhaps it’s just that straightforward: she was raised in a corporation resembling a cult, lacking warmth, always struggling to keep her emotions in check, and finally having a baby might be her ticket out of their grasp. Alternatively, it could be that Lumon has a more ominous agenda – transforming Helena into the “offspring of his blood” and Mark as the “offspring of his industry,” potentially hinting at a plan to reincarnate Kier.

From my perspective as a devoted fan, let me express how astounded I am by the intricate twists in Mark’s narrative. The revelation that his wife is alive, coupled with the possibility of him unknowingly fathering another woman’s child, adds an unexpected and gripping dimension to his journey. This woman, incidentally, holds a powerful position at the company responsible for his misfortune – a plotline that is not only captivating but also masterfully twisted and thought-provoking.

Every clue that Helly is pregnant

Instead of focusing solely on the act itself, it’s important to note that there are indications in Severance Season 2 suggesting that Helly/Helena could become pregnant with Mark’s child. Here are some subtle hints you might have overlooked:

1. The symbolism of the apple – In one scene, Helena gives Mark an apple, which is often associated with fertility and new beginnings in various cultures.
2. The conversation about family planning – In their discussion about whether to adopt, Helena mentions her desire for a biological child. This could be setting up a future storyline where she becomes pregnant.
3. The change in Helena’s behavior towards Mark – There have been moments where Helena has shown increased affection and protectiveness towards Mark, which could indicate the growth of feelings beyond just professional interest.
4. The hints dropped by the creators – During interviews, the showrunners have mentioned that they plan to delve deeper into the personal lives of the characters in future seasons, potentially implying a romantic development between Helena and Mark.

Severance Season 2’s opening credits

1 of 2

In the initial scenes of Severance Season 2, there are two instances featuring infants. Initially, Mark is depicted lying in bed with a group of babies donning business suits. Towards the conclusion, a baby resembling Kier Eagan emerges from the snow, crawling near Mark’s feet.

As I woke up, I found myself surrounded by tiny bundles of joy – I had no clue how or why they ended up here. Just like in the game, my Outie self was clueless about my Innie being with Helly and Helena at the same time.

The second option provides a clearer indication because it resembles Kier Eagan identically. Furthermore, the snow might serve as an additional hint, considering the child might have been born at Woe’s Hollow.

Pregnancy isn’t unprecedented in Severance

In Season 1 of Severance, the topic of pregnancy within Lumon was brought up on two occasions. Specifically, in Episode 3, there is a short conversation between Natalie and a news anchor, during which the anchor queries, “However, what would you say to a woman who got pregnant at work, barely a month after her company underwent severance?

Nothing more is disclosed about her: neither her name nor the division she’s from, nor if she continues to be employed at Lumon.

Additionally, it’s uncovered that Gabby Arteta, wife of Senator Angelo Arteta, who are both benefactors of Lumon Industries, underwent a procedure to spare her the agony of childbirth.

Kier Eagan’s mythology

If we look at one specific passage from Lumon’s Compliance Handbook, Helena developing feelings for Mark and having a child with him wouldn’t be deemed as overstepping any boundaries according to Kier Eagan’s perspective.

In every strike of your axe or stroke with your pen, pour in your deepest feelings, so they can be refined and sent back to you. There’s no greater purpose than this. And there’s no greater love…This is the ultimate reward for your efforts,” he penned down.

The financial compensation I could offer you doesn’t compare to the value of the genuine, selfless love that can blossom between a worker and their employer. Such affection is unique and purely altruistic.

One point to focus on: ‘the genuine affection that can only arise between an employee and their employer.’ Given Helena’s dual roles as both worker and Kier’s offspring, she might favor a relationship with Mark.

Woe’s Hollow

At the ORTBO event, Helena annoyed Milchick by mocking the existence of Dieter’s fourth appendix. She felt that the main reason behind Dieter’s demise could be summarized as him exposing himself to his mother – or in Milchick’s words, “discharging his ancestry onto the ground.

Instead of Dieter, Helena potentially continued the Eagan bloodline when she conceived a child on sacred grounds. This could have been planned, or simply luck – nevertheless, it’s an interesting backdrop for Helena and Mark’s initial intimate moment.

Jame Eagan may want another heir

It’s evident in Severance Season 2 that Jamie Eagan doesn’t hold a high regard for Helena, as she yearns for her father’s admiration, similar to the dynamic between Shiv Roy and Logan Roy.

She’s next in line to succeed Lumon after James passes away (assuming Mr. Drummond isn’t her brother, though this hasn’t been verified), but there’s a possibility that he has been guiding her towards having a child with Mark in order to raise another potential successor.

Towards the end of Season 1, he says to her, “One day, you will be seated with me at my throne.” This phrase is somewhat unusual, but it implies that he is passing on his position to her. However, following her Innie’s dramatic outburst on stage, it remains questionable whether he would consider her a fitting successor, especially since he referred to her as an “unruly child.
